If you train in a skill like "small blaster specialization", does the damage bonus apply when you use a tech I small blaster or only when you use a tech II small blaster? |

Does tech I blasters require small blaster specialization? They don't, so the bonus doesn't apply to them. |

The above is correct. There is no real reason to use t1 once you can use t2 anyway. |

The specialisations only apply to tech two weaponry, as a rule of thumb, if it is listed as a requirement for that tier, you benefit.
best named and t1 are only really worth it for price/fitting requirements tbh, i certainly will not be swapping my tachyon 2's for the t1 version though... |

Indeed, no real reason.

Regarding T2 weaponry, the differences between T1 meta 4 and T2 seem small, but they get multiplied by the various extra skills, the special ammo, etc., and you end up with a noticeable increase in DPS. |

No, not "Etc". There is t2 ammo (which may or may not be useful depending on the weapon type and the situation) and the one specialization skill.

Jita does not magically make t2 mods as cheap as t1 mods, not everyone lives in jita, and I bet you never bothered training up engineering and electronics, right? After all if you need engineering and electronics to fit something then you just need to fit better.

TheBlueMonkey wrote:For price Jita This is new players forum. Many new players can't afford Jita prices for T2 items. T2 guns are often 1 mil+, whereas meta 3 or 4 are 100k or less. It might be pocket change to you, but to a new player fitting a destroyer with 7 guns, that is a hell of a lot of ISK. Not having the ISK is a very real reason for newbies to stick to meta guns.
TheBlueMonkey wrote:For fitting learn to fit better Again, new players forum. Most new players have electronics and engineering 3, and no weapon upgrades etc. So fitting constraints are much tighter, and cpu/pg is a very real reason for sticking to meta.

You used valid arguments, that's cheating -¼-¼
I should probably remember where I'm posting rather than just blurting out my brain dumps. That said,
Most of the time you'll get the cheapest stuff in jita (unless you put up buy orders in random regions)
As for skills, get the core skills up, and pick up T2 guns when you can.
The core generic skills are about the most important in the game and will often help you a hell of a lot more than specializations.
that a better answer? |

What is the definition of a new player? I started at the end of September and I have access to T2 modules and guns. Price I can see and sometime fitting can be a challenge with some skills not to level five but, in my mind that just tells you how to adjust your training plan. |

And which is why I stress to get those core skills up before you train for T2 guns...that training is useless if you can't fit them to your ship. Old look Corporation recruitment thread Corporation Website |
