Can we make the max warping speed determine the acceleration of the warp speed?
say there was a static time to reach max warping speed, so it took 5-10 sec to reach 3 AU/s but also took 5-10 sec to reach 6-21 AU/s... thus ships with faster warping speeds, (not talking about agility here, but speed inside warp) would get more out of their total warp speed even on shorter warps compared to larger and slower ships...
This would allow ships like interceptors to catch up to larger ships much faster, currently an interceptor will land at the same time as a battlecruiser in short AU warps, where only the time it takes to get to 75% of max speed is what matters (agility)
it is only when systems have more than 10-20 AU warps where the warp speed begins to make a difference (unless your in a freighter)...
I been told by CCP before that they are basicly clueless themselves about how the warp mechanics work, because the guy who made the mechanics is long time gone? or something like that.... wouldn't it be an idea to rework the entire thing just like you did with crimewatch and such? :3, warping is one of those mechanics that affect everyone... and it would greatly improve the feeling of inspace action...
I heard the arguement of "it would make eve smaller" before, but for people who think this... this change would only really affect frigs, as battlecruisers and larger would hardly notice the difference (they reach max speed much faster, because currently everyone accelerates at the same speed per sec... I think the calculation was something along the lines of simply a^x or something?)
tl;dr Make max AU/s matter even on smaller warps. Christmas wish list https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=134275 Module activation delay! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1180934 |

Warp Engine Harmonizer Increase Maximum warp speed by 'X'% There are already rigs that increase your warp speed (not saying there couldn't be a module too), but they do not affect the time it takes for you to get up to full warp speed (after the warp drive actually starts warping you), nor the time to slow down to sublight speeds on the final approach.
Which for most warps, is like 80% of the entire time spent in the warp (for example, 10 AU warp, about 3 seconds AT WORST will be spent at full speed, and more like 40 seconds speeding up and slowing down). Thus, +1 to this idea. It has always bothered me, too that a 20% warp speed increase is only actually about a useless 4% increase, since it only applies to a tiny portion in the middle of the warp when youre going full speed. |

Agreed. Acceleration / deceleration should absolutely factor in warp speed.
A month or two ago I made a rigged crow, designed purely for warp speed and velocity, just to use to get me around on autopilot faster in highsec.
Barely made a bit of difference because most of the ruddy warp times were acceleration. |

In case of you guys didn't noticed... Warp Speed IS bugged... including warp velocity rigs..... but at last ships are warping... I hope CCP fix it some day.... but they have other priorities now... =/ Please read this! > New POS system ( Block Built - Starbasecraft) Please read this! >-á[Debate] - ISK SINK |

One thing that would be a nice touch to add: Scale the rotation of the ship to the align time. Right now an enormous battleship whips around to its new orientation as quickly as an attack frigate does. It would be cooler if the frigate whipped around and flew off, while the battleship lumbered into its new orientation. It would go a long way toward communicating the immense size of the ships, for one thing.
The rapidly-turning battleships look like toys. |

This is one of those things I wish CCP would reply on, if it's something they would even consider looking into some day in the future Christmas wish list https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=134275 Module activation delay! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1180934 |

100% agree with OP, warp speed should mean something more than is does now. I also think that it would be awesome to fly in Interceptor and chase a larger target to a destination and beat them there. I know it's possible now but only on the longer warps, the short hops are the same time for large and small ships as the OP indicated. |
