It wasn't. CCP just reduced the price to what it was when tech was only ludicrously expensive, rather than super ludicrously expensive. Track your wealth with EVEStats - https://ohheck.co.uk/EVEStats/home.php |

They made a series of moongoo tower reactions, one of which lets platinum and cobalt be fused dragonball gt style into technetium at a 1:10 ratio, effectively capping the price at 130k or something like that |

CCP just made it cheaper, not as cheap as it should be to obtain. if they really wanted to nerf tech, they would have worked on t2 production. its still way higher than it should be. |

I love it how people think that 16bil a month per moon goes a long way in a huge alliance.
I mean, that's like, what, replacing 32 battleships?
Even if you had 30, tech moons that's only 480bil a month, so, 100 dreadnaughts.
OMG
now, if you personally owned a tech moon, that'd be a big deal but even them, not really if you were after a mom or something like that. |

I'm going off old numbers and hear say tbh, that being that tech moons make 16 bil a month.
My point stands that even if this were true, it doesn't exactly go far when your alliance is in the thousands, constantly fighting and paying to replace ships. |

Goons have been some of the most vocal about nerfing tech. Look up some of The Mittani's work when he was the CSM chairman. |

Access to Tech is also going to be easier and more varid in the coming years.CCP have already stated you will be able to get it from ring mining when it arrives ,and they are going to seed the odd asteroid of tech into belts,on a random basis .So even a lone high sec miner can strike lucky As well as a few more moons thoughout null in general so its not all in one part..CCP wont totally nerf it though,as it does play a rather special role in game. The price will keep falling though, but not as much as some may wish.It will still be expensive though maybe not so stupidly expensive ,it gives one corp/alliance to much of an advantage. |
