For as long as I can. I doubt that ISD will allow this account to be active for long.
The decision-makers have made it clear what they think of high sec. Whatever is planned is a done deal, and no amount of posting on these forums by the high sec players will change anything. We lost, they won.
High sec players have 2 choices: Either quit the game or wait it out, hoping that other people un-subbing might turn CCP's collective mind around. Naturally the null sec zealots will suggest a 3rd option, that of moving to null sec. I of course can't speak for all high sec players, but have spoken with enough to know that option is not an option for at all for many , many high sec players.
Whatever decision you make, it is pointless to post your opinions here, as the null sec zealots will not be swayed by your arguments, and through CCP's actions over the past few years, I have little doubt how much respect CCP has for the high sec viewpoint.
So high sec players, save your time and righteous anger posting on these forums. Spend your time enjoying whatever scraps are left for you in high sec, because they are dwindling fast, and will continue on that path. |

1) Massive persecution complex! Playing yourself as this tragic victim as if somehow you were born without a jump drive and can't leave. You choose to make yourself a "highsec player", you can choose not to be.
2) WTF is a "highsec player" anyway! Everyone else isn't "null zealots", they're just players, they fly around, playing the game, going where they please. It's you who is creating this imaginary dialogue where there are two types of players and one oppresses the other.
3) Please don't blackmail CCP with "we'll quit if you don't do what we say", you are what is wrong with the game. Everyone is welcome to play EVE, and it's good if you want to engage in a dialogue about the future of the game, but please quit if you're just going to ball and cry till you get what you want, which is all guns locked PVE forever. |

Should I announce your main?
Anyways on a real topic, it can be argued the war was won before the incessant null-sec hate threads pointing at both null-sec and hi-sec as topics of discussion in a persistent MMO.
Loftus' 1974 study on eye-witness testimony proved (now empirical) that the psyche of a person will fixate on the dangerous aspects first and foremost, details get lost or skewed by the brain based on stereotypes.
You could say a feather was placed in the cap as soon as those threads opened up.... after 3 months of player analysis on each other (essentially no content posting) you can observe the final solution, as intended <- alienation of EVE players.
When an individual starts a topic on the behaviours of another player it is because that player (or playstyle) is weaponised in the psyche of the observer. This has led to the situation you've been arguing both sides of the fence for - They feel defeated and pre-emptively strike out at their unknown offender.
I think your quit-post is in breach of the forum rules but you've probably noted down the lunch-breaks to carry out some meta-game objective you've conceived solely on your own and have no intention to step back from. This can't really be classed as a personal attack in this case as it is the natural defence to seek support to handle sensitive situations, I'm sorry you feel so hurt by these transpired events, but if each of the names to the left were omitted you'd just find a mass of swirling counter-statements that cause the abandonment of the forums.
I suggest you read this. Read from you real soon.

Transferable kill rights are the best thing since sliced bread. It is very clear that The Powers That Be desire more player-driven mechanics. So here is more work they have done to put the fun back into functional gameplay.
But in your case you have decided that the Level One AI is the worst thing to happen to the game since GǪ I dunno, the NeX perhaps? That's fine. Have your opinion, but please be prepared to keep it to yourself once people have told you multiple times that you are going about it the wrong way.
You have slipped into a Chicken Little scenario: running around telling everyone who has ears that the sky is falling and the end of the world is night.
Well, guess what? Most of the remaining players of the game disagree with you. Many of us were skeptical about Crimewatch: it has turned out to be a real shot in the arm for lowsec, and has led to some interesting development in hisec.
So my apologies to CCP Greyscale GÇö I had honestly thought that you could do nothing right, and that Retribution was going to be a failure due to Crimewatch specifically. Instead we got Crimewatch 2.0 + Transferable kill rights which has actually been awesome.
As for the Level One AI having a hard on for drones, Dinsdale, you have to realise that the catalyst for finally replacing the old AI with new AI (something players like me have been begging for since about 2009) was people making mountains of ISK by AFKing certain complexes in AFK sentry domis. The devs have looked at the results and decided that some tweaking is in order: that tweak is already scheduled for a patch coming Real Soon NowGäó.
In the meantime people like me who do PvE with "friends" are having no problems since we've found ways to manage the drone aggro (and yes, a Huginn with webs + TPs does make the NPCs quite angry).
So please forgive us if we don't immediately pack up all our things and leave for another game.
And you really need to relax and think things through for a few minutes. Once you can elucidate upon your major concerns, other people (or indeed CCP) can help address your concerns. Without any idea what it is that has you so worried, we can only stand by and watch the crazy guy ranting in morbid fascination.

Newsflash, CCP doesn't want "highsec players" in the game.
CCP also doesn't want "nullsec players". Or "lowsec players". Or "wormhole players".
CCP wants EVE players. Players who can enjoy more than area of the game. Players who define themselves by their interests, their friendships, the communities they build, the successes they achieve - not by fanatically clinging to arbitrary game mechanics and balance choices that are always subject to change. Players who aren't so chained by their tunnel vision that they see any change, no matter how trivial or unrelated, as a targeted threat to their very existence. Players who see change as a new opportunity to try something different.
So yes, if you want a game that will forever stay exactly the same, and nothing will ever change, EVE is not the game for you. Try chess. |
