Shield: Tengu- 0 em is normal, but 80 therm? And then 70 kin, 50 exp. All out of order! Loki- 75/60/40/50, the kin/xp is is low but in the right order, until the EM/therm decides to be special.
Armor: Legion- 50/35/62.5/80? That should be reversed! Proteus- 50/67.5/83.8/10! Again, out of order! Loki- 90/67.5/25/10, at last, one that makes sense.
Besides race-specific high T2 ship resists, all other ships in the game follow armor -> exp/kin hole and shield -> EM/therm hole. Especially the legion- being only able to deal EM/therm damage, it really only fights em/therm dealing NPCs. |

Umm. You more or less answered your own question. T3s inherit T2 racial resists, so Amarr are resistant to Minmatar damage types (exp/kin), Minmatar resist Amarr damage (EM/therm), etc. |

This is typical T2+ racial resistance bonus. It consists of basic profile (0-20-40-50 for shields and 50-35-25-20 for armor) and two resistance values (both for shield and armour) buffed against stereotypical damage profile of faction's main enemy. So, Amarr have their Kin and Exp resistance buffed (well, projectiles have various damage types, but T2 ammo indicates kin-exp profile, so...), Minmatar have bonuses against Amarr lasers (EM and Therm), Caldari and Gallente tank up against Kin and Therm (both use hybrid turrets and Caldari also favour mostly Kin missiles).
Knowing that, you can now see why some ships are so loved as ratting ones (Tengu or, say, shield Ishtar - imagine them against Guristas), or why T2 Amarr armour and Minmatar shield profiles are considered pretty good for random PvP stuff - they have natural holes patched by racial resistances. |

As with all T2 resistances the enhanced T3 resists follow the system by which they receive the equivalent of two active hardeners for the racial enemy's primary damage (Kinetic is primary for Caldari for example and therefore Gallente recieve two hardeners worth of Kinetic resists) and a single hardener's worth for their enemy's secondary.
While that seems to be win/win for Amarr and Minmatar with ships like the Curse and the Muninn (the Curse generally used with a shield tank and the Muninn classically an armour ship) the resist 'holes' become even more glaring. |
