Dear community,
First let me tell you that i am (was) a droneboater, crosstrained for Tengu. As i feel a bit pissed off from the drone nerf in missions, i crosstrained for Tengu right before the HM nerf. As i feel that my Gila, Ishtar, Domi and Navy Domi is a bit useless now, i-¦ll try out the Tengu. Thankfully i did-¦nt buy that Rattler i was up to.
Second i have to say that i never used a missile boat, but have skilled HM up to use the T2 launcher. So i came up with something like that:
Tengu offensive: Accelerated Ejection Bay Tengu defensive: Amplification Node Tengu electronics: Dissolution Sequencer Tengu engineering: Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Tengu propulsion: Fuel Catalyst
High: 6 x Heavy Missile Launcher II
Med: Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster Shield Boost Amplifier II 3 x Mission specific Hardener II 10mn Afterburner II
Low: 3 x Caldari Navy BCU Damage Control II
Now here comes my questions: Is this fit viable for doing L4-¦s? Will i be able to kill elite frigates with Precision without a Target Painter?
Feel free to improve this fit, but keep in mind that too many deadspace modules may pait "please gank me" on my hull.

Here is my fit which i have just recently done "angel extravaganza" lvl 4 with. Take into account i am only a casual player so there are bound to be better fits than this, also take into account i am a tight git that hates spending too much, and i only use normal bog standard missiles. i done the mission without any real concerns. With reagrd to drones and the recent nerf, i am still trying to figure out what the problem is my drones seem to do fine i have lost 1 since the patch only because i was too lazy to repair it.
adjust hardners for mission type/damage
[Tengu, Gÿ+ McP-Ugly-Bird Gÿ+] Tengu Electronics - CPU Efficiency Gate Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay Tengu Propulsion - Intercalated Nanofibers

10MN Afterburner II 2x Adaptive Invulnerability Field II Medium Shield Booster II Thermic Dissipation Field II Kinetic Deflection Field II
3x Ballistic Control System II Damage Control II

Lose the damage control (not needed) and replace with a 4th BCS (T2, not faction) Change rigs to 2x T2 Rigors, 1x T2 Flare

I like the dissolution sequencer sub for locking range and anti-jamming but post-patch that should be balanced for missile range.
Be careful to not over-tank or have too much cap recharge. If you can perma-run the AB, that provides the first line of defense against the BB rats. Try adding a target painter. If you really want better cap stability, go with 2x T2 CCC rigs and use the third slot for a T1 damage rig. Many good ways to configure a mission tengu. |

Tentatively speaking, use 2xrigors and 1 flare. I'm still running the numbers but it is looking like the HML nerf hit a bit harder than I expected against cruiser sized targets.

@op: lose the damage control, add a fourth bcu. for rigs use 2x rigor 1x flare or 3x rigor if you want to save ISK. a faction or deadspace afterburner is expensive but will help your tank and completion time, but T2 will do if you don't want to spend too much money. aside from that, the fit is fine. i prefer two hardeners and a cap battery to be cap stable but that's just me.
edit: iirc precision got a buff, so if before the hml nerf, you could kill frigs with regular t1 or faction, after the buff precision should do the trick as long as you have rigor rigs.

i ahve no rigor/flare rigs, & offhand the subs are the same as the OPs
precision ammo is still effective if you use painter, and even more effective if you web the target aswell i have 2x CCC II's and 1x CCC I rigs as i need cap regen from somewhere
6 highs & 4 lows are entirely given over to dps mids are Medium Booster Adapt Inv, EM Ward 10mn Afterburner TP & Web
the only downside is the 10s ammo swap between fury/precision but small targets die very quickly, medium+ dont last that long either.
the tengu is still highly versatile, and can still be flown/fitted effectively a number of ways |

Look into ham with jav. With 3x range rigs, you get 65km, which is usually enough. Lack of rigor rigs is a minus, but jav ham exp radius and velocity is already better than CN/t1 hml, far better than fury hml, and can handle frigs somewhat competently. More than a buff. Precision now has the same base damage as Heavy Missiles. Aside from cost and reduced range, Precision > T1.
