I say no to t2 battleships. It would screw up the economy in countless ways, as well as ruin pvp.

Wha, why?
So far the most expensive ships players can get there hands on are battleships and HAC's. (I'm not counting faction battleships as they are extremely rare)
The 800m price these ships are likely to have will justify there use. I don't know many pvpers that can shake off a loss like that. They will always be first target as killing them would equal the downing of nearly a dozen battleships (accounting for insurance).
The funny thing about tech 2 cruisers and above is that they are mostly viable in solo/squad battles and not large scale pvp. I know a few HAC's do the anti-inty role in fleets but i really can't say the same will occur for tech 2 battleships. You are guaranteed first target (unless your fighting muppets) and you will die and lose ****loads.
The point i'm trying to make is that they are not nearly as viable for large scale fleet battles because of the minimal advantage offset they provide. Even if they do twice the amount of damage as a tech 1 battleship the price will not be justified. It's just one ship firing out of 50, that doesn't offset much at all. One ship alone or in a squad of 3-5 makes a much bigger difference.
I see these as solo/squad weapons and if anything, eve can use more of that then the massive fleet blob lagage that tends to go on these days.
I just don't see how these can **** up pvp, they'll be able to do a lot but losing one will pwn your wallet.

I dont think that Dreads will be able to take out 3-4 battleships single handedly under *normal* circumstances. IIRC in a dev chat it was stated that they'll have about 2x the firepower and 2.5x the defensive power of a battleship.
So a scorp and a couple of ganky tempests will still probably screw a DN over, there's your counter.
T2 battleships, I really really hope are not direct combat ships at all.. since you know they ARE going to cost .5-1.0 billion isk they damn well better be worth it for PvP. I like the idea of a flagship which gives bonuses to all of your gang. THAT might be worth the isk investment in certain circumstances, assuming you can find a way to keep the thing alive. +++
It's called "low security space" for a reason. |

Give them Tech 2 resistances, but not weapon related bonuses.

I assume once we get Elite Battleship at the same time Dreadnought class rats turn up. In fact I hope we get Dreadnought class rats at the same time as Dreadnoughts.
Don't think we'll get Dreadnaught rats actually. Maybe bigger and better 'leet BS rats, or rats of the carrier and flagship variety ... but since Dreads are siege specialists, however powerful, they're not you're run of the mill 'gate guard' or 'belt guard' ships.
Same reason we don't see that many rat logistics, ice miners, etc. ... unless CCP eventually plans for NPC's to come knocking at random POS's from time to time (which would be strange ... server fighting itself while the POS owners are at work).
The second devblog on Cosmos tsaid part of the COSMOS change would include constellations using faction specialty ships. Probably the most understated quote was "An example would be a COSMOS constellation within the Curse region would most likely have an Angel Dreadnought or five to greet anyone that wants to say hello to their little friends."
So I'd say yeah, dreads are gonna npc too.

Interdictors are the tech II EW cruisers. Area of effect scramblers and webbers have been hinted at.

It's scary to think of a Assault BS. The Amar ones would be one or 2 steps SHy of "God mode". Add a few Thermal and EM hardeners, and maybe a T2 Adaptive and you Pull 90% or so across the board. Add in that Most T2 Ships get a extra Slot, more Bonus, and larger CPU/Grid/cap they would be nightmares.
Maybe Dreads will be introduced first, and then the T2 BS will come out to counter them. Similar to the way HAC's can Counter BS.
But I would love to see a T2 Ferox with Assault Bonuses. Or any T2 BC. They Got punked over In my opinion.

And its to soon the be concerned about them.
that dont sound bad

an Interdictor Cruiser in the Star wars universe is a ship that can emit a field similar to a mobile warp disruptoe pulling ships out of hyper space.
that would ROCK in this game, a ship that "is" a mobile warp bubble.

We'd have to deal with logoff tactics first. No risk of losing them if things stand as they do now. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

But man, having T2 battleships do something like augment the turret tracking of every allied ship within 100km just by being there, or decrease all signature radiuses within that same area of effect... think about the possibilities that could produce.
I WANT!! ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |
