I have amoon that I want to anchor a POS at, but there a cargo container anchored there. I could hire some mercs to remove it, but the person who anchored it is part of Caldari state, and I don't think I can war dec a faction.
What do I do?

Try petition for moon squatting. Iirc it's an exploit, but check with the GMs.

Just open a petition. Isn't an exploit but you can petition a GM to remove the container. |

How exactly does the anchored Can inhibit the POS?
Did they manage to place the Can at the exact spot the POS will anchor?
I know regardless of where you kick out the POS, it will always anchor to a specific spot. I know, b/c I once tried cruising to a neighboring grid in the hopes of making the POS "hidden" and it didn't work. Other times I've warped to 100km off the moon, and then kicked out the POS, and it jumped like 185km when I clicked Anchor.
So is the Can precisely on the anchor spot, or is the Can just on the WTZ for the moon? Could you just cruise a short distance from the Can and then try to Anchor, or does it really take GM intervention? |

if there's a can you can't anchor the POS because three's somethign else or something like that. Doesn't matter where it is.
You can always just gank the can.

wasnt this changed to not effect anchouring a pos anymore. the can just stays for the 30days til it goes poooof, but iirc you can still anchour the pos. if not put in a stuck petition and get them to move it CCP-áare full of words and no action. We watch what they do and its nothing but false statements and lies.

WTB: Ship capable of doing 500,000 damage in an alpha strike!
Giant secure containers have 500,000 Hull. This isn't something you are going to gank without a large fleet.

Also this. A stuck petition will get the GM's to remove the can ASAP!

Containers don't normally block towers from being anchored. Typically just move away from the container 5 km to 100 km and try to anchor again. Failing that, then ya, petition. |

Sit at the can and do a directional scan, 10,000 km, 360 degrees. If a POS tower pops up, someone has a tower anchored offgrid of the warpin point, so you can't anchor another tower at this moon. If you want to verify it, use smaller dscans (smaller angles to figure out which direction the tower is, and then smaller ranges to rangefind) and then fly in that direction in a fast ship.
No, I don't know how it's done. I've heard that it was easy earlier and an intervening patch fixed most, but not all, moons, making the offgrid towers you find today relics of the prepatch era. Yes, I'm positive it's possible, I've seen it myself. |

screw D-scan, it's much easier to find a pos like that using probes.. fly to the moon, launch 4 combat probes, set to 0.25 au, move them apart a little and scan.. if there's a POS you'll see it.

And if the tower is off-grid from the moon's warp-in grid, you can and should petition it.

IIRC, having the tower off-grid from the warp-in isn't petionable, but shaping the tower's grid using grid-fu so that's it's incredibly tiny is.
