One of the problems with living in a WH is trust. Your all crammed together in a POS sharing the Corp hangers and Ship Maintenance Array all it takes is one rotten apple and allot of expensive stuff can be taken.
What I was thinking about was a freighter sized vessel which when inside a POS shield can anchor and the POS takes over it's power grid and CPU. This vessel belongs to the player not the corp and acts like a private hanger to store supplies and ships in. It does not have a fitting service. That still requires a Ship Maintenance Array. You'll be able to store packaged and unpackaged vessels inside. |

Isn't that a slightly less functional carrier?

Yes, but this ship could be anchored so you can log off without worrying about your stuff getting taken by a corp theif. Or bumped out of the sheilds. |

Why a ship? You just need a massive disposable container that can hold ships.
Right now though, you can have a couple of arrays, password them and only give access to each one to a small group within the corp.
Failing that, only grant access to people you trust.
All in all, the POS revamp is still coming and that could sort out the whole issue. MODULAR DRONES

Why not just train (or buy) an alt into a suitcase carrier? ... |

Yeah... because this woudl totally work. why should the corporation give a single member exclusive rights to a section of the towers CPU/Pg? ad if you start letting EVERY player have one fo these? then you lose space for alliance/corporation assets inside that POS.
its fine as it is now, Wormholes are a TRUST-BASED space, if you have people ion you corp/alliance that you cant trust, or you suspect may steal from you, then you need to clean out your team-roster.
personally i sit in a C6 with about 50 or so (at least during the hours im usually online) highly active pilots, plus another 100+ that log on occasionally, and a bunch more that just show up for pvp. in the roughly YEAR ive been living with this group, even during times where we moved holes and had to have other people help us transport our stuff, we have only ever had ONE real corp thief, and he was dealt with, didnt even get all that much. |

It's not like a Corp is restricted to one POS or that WH corps are short of an ISK or two. I know if I could anchor my own POS independent of the corp I'd do that rather than share a POS with every one else and risk getting cleaned out again. |

im sorry, just... do you know how ridiculous it would be to have a ship that is both independent AND a pos-module? those are 2 entirely different entities within the game and crossing them would be bad. |

Making poor decisions about who to share a wormhole pos with is not CCP's problem. If you aren't happy with your pos-mates, then get your own pos, or, better yet, find people you trust to pos up with. Asking for a ship (or some other module) that will limit your risk (and thus remove responsibility on you to make good decisions) is both stupid and idiotic. |
