Hi there - I think Eve needs a new class of brawler capital ship that can engage large targets like dreads do now (structure Bashing) but be able to have a flexible weapon loadout and bonused Xtra Large weapon tracking for a range of dynamic fleet actions
The role would be flexibile beach head lead and fleet anchor
capital battleship with the following attributes
No jump drive (gates only) - but limited to system sec level (ie 0.5 and up is a no go) Fit Xtra Large Weapons Fit a second rack of BS/BC/CR weapons Shorter siege cycle Unable to be scrammed - however anchored bubbles and heavy interdictor works as normal Nimble/fast Specific mods to configure as light carrier, gunboat or other Bonus to remote rep and boost Would need a bit more thought - but these are the basics for discussion - What do you think? |

So you're asking for a ridiculously overpowered ship with two sets of weapon bonuses that would make dreads totally obsolete and can only be countered by titans and supercarriers, further cementing groups such as the CFC and HBC with supercapital superiority?

No-one would ever fly anything else. You've just obsoleted battleships, dreads, carriers, logis, battlecruisers of any flavour, and given that anything smaller won't be able to scratch them, cruisers and frigates as well. |

OK here's an idea. How about a battleship, with no warp drive or jump drive capability. It can only be carried into the field of war, with a specialist hauler. Once there and ejected into space, you can board it. You then have to online all it's modules.
It can fit 8 capital sized guns. Only 1 mid slot. Only 1 low slot.
Bonuses, powergrid, CPU and skills etc, to be discussed.
CCP Zulu..... Forcing players to dock at the captain's quarters is a form of what we actually wanted to get through, which is making Incarna a seamless part of the EVE Online experience. |

This is one of those ideas that comes up and makes ideas like getting rid of Margin Trading or "fixing" cloaking sound well informed and plausible.
Why don't we just give everyone the GM modules on their noob ships and get rid of all the others. They're wasted space anyway. Bumping, leave it alone. |

Why dont you simply design a Strategic capital ship for each race which you can customize like the T3 Cruisers?
That would be more relevant I think.
** The moros used to be the most versatile Dread due to its Drone bay. It could attack Dreads as well as kill smaller ships, it's sole purpose was to defend the fleet from Frigates through Battleships. While still being able to engage other dreads on a level playing field.
Then they changed it and now its a piece of ****. |

Bumping a carrier off a gate is much easier than bumping other things if you have a big ship. If its a regular carrier and it jumps through how come you didn't have someone else deagress also? Maybe just have another tackler. Get a phoon and ram it off the damn gate! A titan you say? Well you aren't taking that on solo, you obviously have enough guys to ram it off in two minutes. There are too many assumptions on this post without thought and discussion - oh well - will have to go back to the trol drawing board....
also - the idea is to drive combat differently - not to repeat the same old same old - and a sec level block was suggested cause the thing don't use cyno's - if the ship is too powerful - suggest alternatives to balance
wait - everyone is flying T3's, dreads and carriers -
the idea is not a complete or settled thing - so why treat it as such with faggotry in yer posts?
