If you happen to have access to an iOS device the Neocom app does a fair amount of what EveMon does (and comes in a convenient portable form).

I'm currently looking into WineBottler, an app that acts as a layer between Wine and your Windows stuffs so you don't have to dive into config files and whatnot. If it works, I'll let you know. |

Yes, this is official now EVEMON has finally been replaced for me, Neocom rocks. It's much preferable to keep track of my toons on my iOS devices and it's been a fantastic companion on the iPad next to me while I play. Very impressed and very happy to get one more Windows app in the grave. |

Hey, I'm working on the very same thing. I installed the program just fine, but now in terminal I'm getting the following message:
Quote:Dynamic session lookup supported but failed: launchd did not provide a socket path, verify that org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist is loaded! wine: Install Mono 2.8 or greater for Windows to run .NET 4.0 applications.
I installed Mono 2.10, didn't do a thing... Any luck?

no, no luck unfortunately (ok i didn't break my neck trying) ... in the mean time i'm using evemon still via virtual machine, although now via paralles which gives nice coherent mode with windows windows on mac desktop, not optimal but still very good ... quite a memory eater but still bearable ... i will however try to fix this someday Sh1va Furnace is recruiting. |

Much better writeup here:
http://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/
You need to install D-Bus
"Common Issue 2: D-bus
Some Windows applications need a process called D-bus to be running, in order to communicate with certain other applications (or check if certain other applications are running). MacPorts actually installs D-bus for you automatically when you ask it to install Wine, but MacPorts does not actually run D-bus until you ask it to do so.
If a program requires D-bus to be running, and it isn't, you may see an error that looks something like this:
Dynamic session lookup supported but failed: launchd did not provide a socket path, verify that org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist is loaded!
To ask MacPorts to run D-bus for you, just run this line of code:
$ sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.freedesktop.dbus-system.plist $ launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist
That will not only run D-bus, but it will also make sure that D-bus is run again every time your computer reboots. To turn off D-bus, just run those same two commands, replacing load with unload."
This is a pretty extreme measure for simply running EVEmon as per the OP, but it is free and open source.
I will let you know how my install works after I finish.
I know I necroed this thread but I have scoured the net looking for solutions to several EVE on Mac issues I ahve had from installation to launcher to not launching to details like EVEMON. I hope everyone can understand my desire to convey this information to others that may be as frustrated as I and perhaps they can glean something useful for themselves.
Until my update GL guys.

No need to apologize. My iPhone went to meet its maker, and I spent a few weeks free of Neocom before the wife agreed to a refurb iPad.
Once you realize the potential of this sort of program, its hard to live without it.
Good luck getting EveMon to work, if/when you do, maybe I'll give it a go in something besides a VM I launch less and less. :) Please Read & Comment ( good / bad / or ugly ): Anti-POS ship class idea - (Tier 3/T2) BattleShip / Pocket Dreadnought |
