I'm looking to build a small fleet of ship that I can use for PVP. They need to be cheap. What are my options. Please list all the mods for the ship as well. |

The Ibis with a Meta 1 jammer is probably a good choice. You can probably forego the expensive jammer though.

Less than 30 days old. Check. Start own corp, that is newbie-friendly, with intro to PvP. Check. Doesn't know the most basic aspect of PvP. Check.
Here's some help. |

Any of the tech 1 frigates works. To pull one out of my hat, i'll recommend the Merlin, because it has a resistance bonus which means you can have full tackle and a medium extender and end up having your fights actually last long enough that you can understand what's going on. Though really, you can grab any random basic frigate and do well. (well, an explorer might mean you only do well at covert ops stuff, and a logistics will need a group, but you get the idea..) |

Frig ECM ships are a good choice. They're all good, with the exception of the laughable target painting one.
My favorite is probably the crucifier, with the tracking disruption bonus. TD works 100% of the time, unlike ECM which has a chance to fail, and cannot really be countered, where as an ECM module doesn't work on 3/4ths of the ships you meet. Nothing like sitting 70k away from a fight and knowing you're ruining a few people's day.
You can also build cheap tackling frigates if that's your thing. Combat ships tend to be more expensive, and don't do much DPS unless you invest in T2. For 10 mil or so I can fly 13k EHP punisher with respectable dps. Quite fun, since most frigs usually melt to destroyers. That little guy can take them on 1v1.
Speaking of destroyers, for 2 or 3 mil you can fit one that does relatively high DPS too. |
