EVE is a single shard server, and its "suppose" to be a pvp server (shard) so you not pvping, ruins the server/shard for them. It like a battle to make the one shard/server either pvp or pve. You are just a victimized bystander to it all. |

That place was deadlier than EvE You mean the PvP mmorpg that started out as a pure non-con pvp game and then realised that people were leaving because of the little pvp leetoid griefers running around ganking everyone. So then they split the world into two facets, Trammel / Felucca in order to provide entertainment for everyone and fun was had by all. after the split, UO died to a lot of players. you're just looking at it from your angle. EVE doesn't agree with your philosophy.
Obviously not, because everyone knows the majority of the population is out there in null / low doing the pvp thing and not in hi-sec semi-afk mining and running missions. CCP also hasn't realised this and didn't have a big whiteboard full of ideas to get these peace loving people out of hi-sec.
It doesn't matter though, the recent population boom and continued growth of eve will see plenty of people joining for pvp. That's why CCP isn't releasing CQ's and WiS and is focusing more on ship balancing, FW, and null because they know these are the areas that constitute most of their income.

You sir.. really need to look at your options for making isk. There are literally dozens of ways to make this much isk in an hour, much less a month. Of course.. most of those ways would require you to actually compete with others instead of just mindless shooting roids.

maybe i would fight back if current market prices didn't make even the best insurance not even give you a fifth of the isk needed to replace a ship better than an ibis, let alone the replacement of the overpriced modules |

t1 ships have fantastic insurance, and higher tech does not mean better. it means more specialized and higher resists. |

Who also did huge battles at Britania bridge just tossing energy bolts back and forth? There is nothing wrong with pvp in this game. If you fly an expensive barge, put a tank on it. some invulns and a damage control II will keep most of teh weaker gankers away. |

Quote:it's unfair, childish, rude, and in reality crimially insane, is this a game or a terrorist training camp? It's a PvP game. What's unfair, childish, rude and in reality criminally insane is that some people want to reap all the benefits and pay none of the costs and then have the audacity to bawl their guts out when others insist that they play by the rules. Not to mention wanting the power to influence others without being influenced themselves.
What you're asking for is essentially this: since there are chickens and produce in CS_Italy, you think it's unfair that other CS players keep shooting you in the face, when all you want to do is tend your farm. The insanity here is not on the part of the face-shooters, but on the person who chose to play CS instead of Harvest Moon.
Quote:atleast let us set a PvP status, other games do it Other games are not EVE, and do not have the interconnected nature of EVE, so they can do that. EVE cannot. But sure, let's explore that idea. Here's what will happen when you turn "PvP Off":
You can no longer use S&I slots. You are no longer allowed to access or use POSes. You are no longer allowed to rent or use corp offices. You are no longer allowed to access the market or contracts. You are no longer allowed to launch probes. You are no longer allowed to use the on-board scanner. You are no longer allowed to use any kind of untargeted offensive module. The only things that show up in your overview/bracket list are stations, jump gates, and NPC ships and warp gates that spawn as part of your mission. All other items (player ships, wrecks, loot canisters, asteroids etc etc etc) become un-interactable.
GǪand that's just off the top of my head GÇö there are plenty more restrictions that need to put into place. Such as (roughly and at least) a six-week switch-over timer so you can't flip-flop between the two and terrorise the PvPers.
If you don't want to PvP, then fine GÇö you're not allowed to PvP in any of the ways the above tools and functionalities let you do. Now, do you really think that it would be a fun game to play if you couldn't do any of the above?
Quote:oh so i am just supposed to run and hide without the ability to do anything at all but sit their and twiddle my thumbs for hours It's your choice not to engage in the core activity of the game, so yes. If you don't want to twiddle your thumbs, you can choose that as well. If you don't think this is awesome, you're missing out on what's best about eve. FYI this is a huge market manipulation on oxygen isotopes.
Sometimes other players will gank you, scam you, or do any number of unsavory things, but it all contributes to the harsh, rich , dynamic landscape that is eve online. |
