I have no idea how many killmail TWD has, but I always used to hate to see him in local. That is the true measure of PvP prowess in Eve.
Kill mails are just intel for the enemy. ______________________________________________ Pay or pray..er..prey..yeah, pray you aren't prey. Er, just pay. |

EVE is not an FPS, no need to worry about your FRAG count...
Those who play this game for killmails are kinda playing for the wrong reasons...
I get gaming satisfaction when my "team" wins a battle, more so than when I get a killmail... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Domalais on 28/06/2005 22:36:42 Okay, lets see... put everyone within 1 au on the kill mail.
Cool, now I send in an alt in a reaper, you kill him, I get a printed description of your entire fleet. INCLUDING that covert ops that never uncloaked.
Can we add the full setup of each ship on the mail pls?

If you need your name on a killmail so that your corp will recognize your contribution to the battle, let me save you some time:
You didnt make a contribution, you're all but worthless, quit whining.
They will know if you're helping and they will know if you aren't, and being on killmails you dont really deserve to be won't change that.

Personally I think kill mails is one of the big problems with pvp in eve.
Why? It gives a reason for meaningless pvp instead of pvp having deeper meaning in the form of conquest and control.

HOW DARE you tell other people how to play the game, what they care about and whyt their goals are! Who do you think you are anyway? I personally love to keep track of my kills as do many many other pvp people. Just because you personally dont like care dosent mean we should leave it out of the game. I personally dont give a darn about agent missions, should we remove them? NO.
YOU don't play to win at everything all the time. YOU don't play to get every ship in the game free. YOU don't care if you always win.
HOW DARE you tell other people how to play the game, what they care about and whyt their goals are! Who do you think you are anyway? I personally love to always win at everything no matter what the odds. Just because you personally dont like care dosent mean we should leave it out of the game. I personally dont give a darn about you, should we remove you? PERHAPS.
But the crappy straw man argument aside, HOW DARE you think that this game that many people are happy with should be changed to suit YOUR MINORITY wishes? Who do YOU think YOU are, that you can come into this game and demand changes then insult anyone who doesn't think it's a good idea? Here's MY suggestion - shut the hell up, Derisor! ---
So, what was that you fed me? Battery acid, mostly. That must be why I feel charged up! Ho ho! Actually, you'll just die. ...oh. |

If there's going to be any change with killmails, I'd prefer it to be someway of lowering the amount of lag I get when I get a killmail!!!
*Edit - Oh, and people do use non-corpmembers in gangs for scouting and covert ops (especially in Empire). I think they'd prefer for such people to remain incognito and not appear on killmails...
Yeah they did put tacklers on for about 2 weeks until the crying from another certain CA corp got so loud that their tears drowned all the tacklers, solving the problem.

what an insanely dull thread. I spent 2-3 mins reading all the posts, and thought:
"who cares if they're on a kill mail?" but also, i guess, i also thought "if that's what they want, who cares?" and then i thought "who cares if they're on a kill mail?"

As a cov ops pilot myself I'd really, REALLY hate it if my name appeared on the killmail so that my enemy knew I was there.
Bad idea that contributes nothing to the game except a little ego stroking and e-peen measuring.

tbh, I had a lot of problems with people in a certain corp I led who only wanted on the killmails. Their ship setups were crap, and if we encountered any kind of stiff resistance, they folded leaving me understaffed.
Why do names and ship types and guns have to be on the mail? When CONCORD kills you, it doesn't say you were pwned by the BBQRay on the LOLLERmobile, it just says CONCORD.
I'd be all for the killmail listing what you killed, and what corp/s were involved in the destruction.
Good times will always be remembered. Sleep well, old friends. |
