Well all I can say is logistics of actually building any of the new content is going to be a real nightmare in 0 space.
Especially when you consider that you can only really build alot of it there anyways.
My point being is how the hell are we gonna do it when we have probs turning out 1 BS?

There is simply plenty of low ends in 0.0.
Had to do a small op in curse to build a few extra battleships and it went fine. The problem isnt so much the lack of resources but rather the pvp crowd does not want to put as much effort in obtaining it (plus how many pvp'ers fly a barge?), especialy with higher value ores around the corner.

Give us Tech 2 Ice harvesters and Stripminers. Modulated as well.
Give us Heavy barges, another high slot or 2, Very large Cargo hold, nice armor shields, more defendable (makeing it kinda like the Transport ships did for Industrials.)

Originally by: Lansfear It wasn't lack of manpower, or ability. There simply sin't enough low ends out there. We'd stip FR dry and get one and a half bs's..... Or we could have flown 10 bs's down from empire.
one way that a lot of this is changed, is by recycling loot from 'all' kills.. everything, from logs to drones.. a group of people hunting with collector ships can easily have enough iso/mex after a time to build a ship.. Yes it is slow, but there are always lots of complexes and the spawns in belts work well..
Solo, hunting for a few hours I can generate enough refined minerals that it fills a hauler.. Which solo, you cannot do as a ninja-miner.
Might want to switch your tactics :)
does your ship have a dronebay? If so, sign the petition.. |

You guys are playing a game with one of the most advanced market systems in existence.
TRADE!!
Regarding isogen: The dearth is because the most attractive places to mine it are in 0.1-0.4, where carebears are afraid to roam due to player pirates. The price of isogen is going up, and these ores now produce as much as 2x the profit that mining higher sec ores do. It's a self-correcting system, wherever there's a shortage prices rise, and miners flock to the best profits.

Furthermore -- eventually due to prices and fear of loss, player pirate (not all, but many of the more noobish one) won't be ganking in low sec as much... more self correction...
that is all. great post! -- Thread Killer

I find this thread incredibly amusing.
Trade Agreements go a long way to solving this problem. Eve isn't designed to let you be 100% autonomous, and freighters are more proof of that.

Eventually with freighters you'll be able to move hundreds of millions of units of minerals, which will solve mineral shortages. In adition, being able to move 20 or so whole battleships in a freighter will definatley alleviate industrial problems.

What a bizarre thread. If you want a good economy, you are supposed to have shortages in some places and gluts in another. If you make everything even, then there's little need to trade.

Just to be really picky..
having a freighter solves the transport problem (probably, depending on how easily defendable or otherwise they turn out to be). I predict that supply of trit and other lowends is likely to become a problem if people are building freighters, outposts and dreads. The empire miners are going to find quite a few more people wanting to buy large quantities of lowends. The interesting part is going to be seeing if the producers can stack up enough product for a freighter pilot to fill his hold in one go. I bet that sort of stockpile will bring a premium.
For freighters to be really useful - they will have to be escorted from Empire mineral trading hubs (which I predict will become much more clearly defined with the immense loads these things will be able to haul, and the wish of pilots to make as few pickups as possible) to <0.5 where the dread production will take place - and to deep 0.0 where outposts will be built.
If freighters are too flimsy/slow then they will be useless - and there will be either a whole lot more lowend mining in empire (with a resulting instability of highed:lowend prices in Empire) or a hatload of indies crossing the pirates crosshairs.
Interesting time to be apirate - assuming you can shift huge quantities of lowend minerals :)
