your right but what your missing here is volume. Whats if you were able to do that trade every hour? Just like interest it starts to compound, soon you will have 3bil and your yield is 300mil.
The point is for the time/effort to profit ratio, Station trading is the most lucrative career. However its only the "best" if your goal is to make as much isk as fast as possible.
I also know people who make a Bil or more in other ways. exploration, manufacturing, ect. Honestly Pick something you enjoy doing and do it to the max. For example: like PI? make 25 alts and PI all over the place you can make billions. Like level 4 missions? After 1 toon get a 2nd, learn which missions to skip, max out your ship, ect. you can make billions. |

After reading all the above posts , I see quite a number of people mentioning traders.
Trading has to be one of the most mysterious art in eve. You spend 5hrs a day ,following the market trend ,buying off all the NPC orders before anyone could. You've made billions ,then what? In all those time ,you could be alt-tabbed as you are doing RL stuff... EVE isn't just about making money ,its about the excitement...... Would you agree that perhaps trading as a full time profession maybe a bit too far? A sex symbol becomes a thing. I just hate to be a thing. -Marilyn Monroe

You asked what would have the greatest returns for less than 2 billion capital that can be done solo in a return period of one month. This is about the moolah, not the fun. And base trading is where it is at. |

I've never spent more than an hour a day on market orders and I've made... a lot. :)

wow tip money?
I can buy 2 plex for one hours work, thats 1.2B/hr
The problem arises is it worth it? Sure as sht something comes up and takes my extra money. Maybe I should buy that trit and not mine it and build that carrier. shoot no time to play maybe tomorrow. |

Probably Alliance infiltration, followed by the careful organization of a massive asset steal. Though this likely requires multible alts or additional accomplices.
Other than that, i'd say trade. Though your 2 bill limit kinda kills it. You need isk to make isk afterall. |

I still find it amazing how FW missions never gets added to any of these stupid lists, its probably the most efficient way to making ISK too and really there is very little (outside station) that can compete with it, yes this includes 0.0 / WH crap too |

From what I'm seeing on the market, you'll do better in wormholes than in FW. Not a lot better, but better. AND it doesn't require a 6 hour grind session for a round of missions.

You are doing it wrong if you are only looking for a single activity.
- Buy blueprints, research them and then sell. - Do "buy low, sell high" with market orders and courier contracts. - Run PI on ice planets to get water and toxic metals, then sell it.
Those three are pretty much hands-free ways of making ISKs and you should be doing all of them.
While this makes you ISKs do you run missions or complexes, and when you are out of missions do you go mining for a while. If the belts are bad then do some exploration and search for radar sites to loot and sell decryptors. |

I made about 1.1b ISK today through manufacturing & selling. I'm mostly limited by my number of manufacturing slots, the amount of materials I can afford, and my laziness.
Station traders can be a lot more lazy, and yet earn a lot more. I'm horrible at station trading. |

You missed out on providing 3rd party services for isk.
Only other thing I should add, is that mining falls right at the bottom of the list, I can make more money doing literally anything else. |

SO! What is the most profitable and honorable business in EvE. Manufacturing? Mining? Pvping? Ransoming? Scamming? Contracts? Incursions? Mission running? or is it newbies scamming? or maybe its something CCP never intended ... the dark arts ...

Ganking.
Just take a look at some pro gank corps KB and figure out how much you can do with a good half dozen alts with top hybrids skills. Download ISBOXER, target with one button, kill with another button and scoop cargo with another alt.
Eventually get a couple of friends and it becomes even easier. You can make a crap ton of isk very fast. -á-á-á-á-á-á / |__|-á-á-á This is a tears cup, fill it !
