It is with great ambivalence that I announce herewith my resignation as Chief Executive Officer of the Tuskers. Because of developments in my career and family combined with conflicting new interests I find myself undocking less and less often, and am even contemplating letting my pilotGÇÖs license lapse. I owe it to the Tuskers to step aside in favor of leadership more fully engaged to the corporate welfare.
A pirate from my first days as a capsuleer, I was shaped by my experiences with several noted pirate corporations including the Sanguine Raiders, Black Rabbits, and Ministry of Destruction. On the day almost four and a half years ago I realized no existing pirate corp was really going to fit me perfectly, I had the papers drawn up to create the Tuskers. I was under no illusions back then that the few of us flying under that banner could match the more experienced, more established pirate corps of New Eden, but we would be a band of active and courageous pilots making the most of what we could do rather than focusing on what we could not.
The steady growth of the Tuskers has exceeded my expectations. I never dreamed the Tusker name would be known across the entire galaxy, that even fleets that have never feared facing Tuskers in battle take note when we enter the same constellation. Our numbers have swelled so that on any given day up to 100 pilots are designated Tuskers. Many of New EdenGÇÖs top combat pilots fly under Tusker colors or feature a Tusker tour of duty prominently in their resum+¬. BattleClinic has long designated the Tuskers as the number one combat corp of the day, and at this moment in history they caluculate the Tuskers the number one combat corp of all time. I would be lying if I did not confess my pride in the Tuskers and the amazing pilots that have rallied under that name.
I have chosen to relinquish the Tusker CEO role to Suleiman Shouaa, a decision that will not surprise many of you acquainted with Tusker affairs. The Tuskers has always been a dictatorship; long live the new Dictator. Mr. Shouaa has agreed to accept this promotion. While he has indicated I am welcome to remain in the corporation as long as I wish (and I do so wish), I am not retaining any corporate shares or left holding any strings. I have enjoyed the freedom to lead as I thought best, and I will bequeath my successor nothing less.
Suleiman Shouaa and I have been colleagues for over 3 years, and he has consistently and increasingly distinguished himself by his initiative, pursuit of excellence, and commitment to the Tuskers. We have not always seen eye-to-eye, but I have never doubted that he seeks the best interests of the Tuskers. I am looking forward to seeing what new directions the Tuskers take under his leadership, and I have every expectation that the Tuskers will move from strength to strength.
I wish to express my profound gratitude to all of you who have played a role in the hours and hours of enjoyment EVE-Online has afforded me. ItGÇÖs been a great run.
That is all.
