if its ok with CCP i will be hosting a mirror of the patch from an old website of mine(so ignore the URL). wich will be here. i will try and get the patch up asap after downtime on tuesday but depending on my job it may not be up right away.unless CCP gives me a copy earlier (yeah right) in wich case it will be up only after DT ne way.
also if possible if ne one else is planning on hosting a mirror of the patch would you please post here so we can get a list of mirrors outside that of the official site.

Unfortuantely, it's an executable file, which means if someone wants to use your mirror, they have to pretty much trust that you aren't going to add a trojan to it and that your server is free of viruses and such. While you may be confident that it's fine, others amy not.
I, personally, am a security freak and I don't see a reason to trust anyone but CCP-sanctioned mirrors.

Why mirrors? With bittorrent every downloader is a mirror. |

ok well thats your opinion and your entitled to it. but the mirror will be there should ne one want to use it(not that i care if u dont cause that leaves me with more bandwidth for the other stuff i host of there). and reverese engeneering the client to add a trojan or any other such spyware would make the client incompatible with the one from ccp's servers. as for bit torrents theres no point in hosting the torrent because of the way bit-torrent works. so use it or dont. less bandwidth used=money saved.

Not to mention most would prefer that CCP be the origin of the .torrent file. Plenty of spyware and malware going about over those networks as is.

bittorents all good, would be nice if CCP made it available just before downtime so we can all download and be ready and waiting during the downtime, and so everyone in #eve-radio can ask the question "server up yet?"
