Just started flying a tengu and was looking to do some high sec exploration. I messed about in eft for a bit, looking to get some opinions on this:
[Tengu, All in 1 High Sec Explorer] Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II
10MN Afterburner II Kinetic Deflection Field II Kinetic Deflection Field II Analyzer II Codebreaker II Pithi A-Type Small Shield Booster
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile Salvager II Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe I
Medium Warhead Flare Catalyst II Medium Warhead Rigor Catalyst II Medium Warhead Rigor Catalyst II
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay Tengu Defensive - Adaptive Shielding Tengu Electronics - Emergent Locus Analyzer Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir
501dps, 669 defense guristas
Will that be enough to complete the hardest high sec combat sites? |

A strategic cruiser enough for hisec?
There are no hard sites in hisec, they are designed for new players in cruisers and frigates. You should take that to low, null or wormholes, T3s are the only ships that can solo the hardest sites in game.
Leave the cradle!
(if you really insist on staying in the tutorial area and rob noobs from their income. at least train for an Ishtar so you can actually win the contested sites from other similar asshats)

I very much doubt low skilled cruisers could do all the combat sites in high sec :) |

I've used a Loki in high-sec exploration, it is indeed overkill to use a T3 in high-sec exploration. I am not saying you shouldn't, I ran across a lot of other Lokis and Legions while exploring in high-sec. One thing that you will probably find annoying in using a T3 is that a lot of the combat sites will not allow you in to the session (Cruisers and smaller only). Otherwise you could almost fit t1 gear to a T3 ship and be plenty safe in high-sec. We highly recommend you start doing so now." --á CCP Ytterbium from:-áhttp://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=73530 |

They could. At least the ones they could fit into; 1/10 and 2/10 won't even let cruisers in.
As to site restrictions: T3s can get in anywhere cruisers of any sort can get in, so you have just as much slipping a Tengu into a 3/10 as you would a Stabber. You still can't get in to 1/10s and 2/10s, but either can get in to 3/10s and 4/10s.
As to the fit: meh. If you want to win contested combat sites you need to be faster and have more damage than that. If you're not planning to contest, well, you really don't need a ship that expensive to start with. At least look at a 6 launcher setup and upgrade the BCUs (hint: change your defensive subsystem).
Otherwise, yeah, take that thing out where it belongs. |

lol why are you fitting an afterburner in hisec, because you certainly don't need one to help you tank. Fighting is Magic |

That too. MWD if you anticipate having to turn. 100mn AB is an option if turning is... optional? |
