Are you talking about Tech 2 ammo? It's coming in the next patch or two I think. Theres also faction ammo on escrow right now, but its generally a tad bit expensive.

I'm so looking forward to T2 ammo. So sick of being restricted to EM dmg only with lasers.

He means the range/damage(type) changes.
Proj. were going to have 3 ammo ranges, %50, %100 and %150. And cap usage/damage and types of damage were different between the ammmo's of each group. Hybrids were gettign something similar aswell, and crystals were essentialy unchanged(I think radios got a %160 range bonus becuase they only got one damage type)

I'm close range fighter... you know what I'm talking about, 60% of primary dmg is tanked without any module. With the last change to crystals lasers got even more from the crappy dmg type (EM) and less from the thermal.

Maybe because Amarr favor super tanks, not super damage. If you want super damage go Gallentte. Also, you don't have that bad of a damage type. You chew shields away fast.

Amarr people. EM is a VERY powerful damage type. Far better than Kinetic/Thermal IMHO.
Look.
Lets take a hypothetical untanked ship. (0/20/40/60 -- 60/35/25/10) Avg resist verse: EM: 30 TH: 27.5 KN: 32.5 EX: 35 Therefore, EM is 2nd, with TH being best (laser 2 dmg types)
Now lets take a tanked ship (50/60/70/60 - 60/67.5/62.5/55) Avg resist verse: EM: 55 TH: 63.75 KN: 66.35 EX: 57.5
Here, EM is the best.
I don't have time to say anything more, but hopefully this will end the discussion on "LASERS SUCK ON ARMOR" They do the same dmg or MORE to tanked armor, and they dissipate shields EXTREMELY quickly, even tanked shields.
In fact, if they brought out new hybrid ammo that did pure EM, I'd prob use it.

Players asking for better mods is one thing but better ammo as well is nuts. The turrets and launchers all have increases to benefit players. Now we have players that want the ammo increase in a level as well. Soon we will have players with the ability to be uber pilots that fire one shot and kill the biggest ships in the game. The Tech 2 ammo will become high priced and hard to find. All t2 bpo go into the lotto with R&D.
If a corp gets the BPO, they might not give the ammo out to anyone so they can have the advantage over the competition. There are some groups selling T2 stuff at increased pricing to pay for their PVP play. The best idea is to build the t2 stuff and sell. Not sell BPC then others will find out how some t2 cost in minerals and/or items to make. To keep the price high is the name of the game.
So bring on the ammo and the rich will get richer and you will stay poor.

Hammerhead's ammo changes did happen, albeit briefly, I remember seeing them applied to L ammo only.
Hammerhead, can you illuminate to us why your changes were rolled back? and why they weren't applied to M and S ammo as well?
I wasn't too sure about the hybrid changes myself, but I really really liked the proj. changes.
Though I still contend that projectiles' high damage ammo should have better range to be in line with the higher damage ammos of other races...
for large ammo:
multifreq/antimatter: 48 dmg, -50% range gamma/plutonium: 44, -37.5% range xray/uranium: 40, -25% range UV/thorium: 36, -12.5% range
EMP: 44, -50% range PP: 40, -37.5% range Fusion: 40, -25% range Titanium Sab: 36, -12.5% range
Clearly, to line up with the other ammo types, EMP should have -37.5% range, and PP should have -25% range

I have already gone for gallente long time ago
There are like 3-4 ships from all the 100s of ships in EVE that shield tank. I'm not asking for more dmg modifer, tracking, range, RoF, but flexibility with dmg type. You see an amarr ship and say "oh yeah I'll fit 1 EM hardner and its tanked".

Back to what this Was about.
Yes What happened to The Ammo changes ?
I thought Hybrid Ammo And Projectile Ammo were only going to Have 4 Range Types. The Damage was to remain the same But The Ranges were to be changed.
Yet the ranges appear the same. |

Aye, sure. And Minmatar will get their dmg output upped by 20%, ok?

I really liked the idea of changing projectiles to 3 ranges (especially as minnie ships, at least some of them, have got the speed to be able to control the range of an engagement). However, doing the same to hybrids, when they get no damage-type versatility, is silly. How about halfway- projectile get 3 ranges, to easily change damage type, hybrids get 5 ranges (2 -50%, 1 -25%, 2 0%, 1 +25%, 2 +50%), with a variation between kinetic and thermal for the -50, 0 and +50 ranges. Lasers remain with 8 ranges. ---:::---
