I just got back up to hisec and was running through distribution missions to fix my standings with a couple factions. So i'm no longer shoot on sight.
I thought awhile ago CCP fixed missions where you only get the specific missions for that agent type. I.E.. Security gives kill missions, mining gives mining missions and distribution gives transport missions.
I'm trying to blast through lvl 1 distributions but found i need to bring a whole fleet of ships to do these. It's been giving me mining, combat and just a little bit of transport
WTF? >.>
Seriously why would a distribution agent give his hauler Combat missions? Shouldn't that be deferred to security agents lol

Not sure what the deal is with your agent, might be a bug or even worse, CCP has recently done a stealth change to Agents. Gawd I hope not. Anyway, as far as I know each regular Agent will only offer missions pertaining to their specific Division.
Storyline Agents have a very limited pool of available missions and as such will randomly offer any type of mission, ie: encounter, courier, etc.
As for fixing your Faction standings, check out 'The Plan'.
Good luck to you.

The problem you're probably facing is that there are some multi-part mission that are mostly couriers with occasional combat or vice versa. As the missions come as a chain, they can't really be split up. I don't think CCP really thought this through during the mission change, so either decline multi-part missions or just suck it up with a variety of ships like you said. :) |

I've run quite a lot of distrib missions to get standings for my hauler/trader alt and I can't remember getting anything except hauling missions.
Except of course when the Storyline comes a long, then it has happened that I've got multipart missions with some quite heavy fighting in it.

This kind of problems only occurs on Level 1 distribution.
I also needed to farm standing and I used Distribution on 2 account simultaneously (DUAL SCREEN POWA) and started from level 2 missions. I NEVER get combat mission during the tons of missions I made. But I already heard about level 1 fight mission in distribution so it should quickly stop, just farm until level 2.
The only "lot of combat mission" I get was a storyline 1/10 (that influenced my standing by 22%, so I switched from 4,5 to 5,5 (I also loled hard)) given after a few level 3 distribution mission.

I sugest that you train connections and negotiation and skip level 1 this way or even level 2 if you train those high.
I have been running distribution for some time now and never been given any security or minning mission ,only distribution. |

The agent should give you all hauling missions if he's a distribution agent. But the storyline agents have never been fixed to give only missions that match their type. So 1 in 16 missions will still be random no matter what you do. |

True but you can remove offer from that agent with having no loss of standing ( ok you skip one storyline ) and see which storyline agent will apear next. This way you can end ( if you have patience ) with distribution storyline agent.I did it that way and its ok ,i only get distribution storyline. The only minus is that youll have to jump to that agent becouse when you remove offer from one agent next nearest random storyline agent apear. |

The lower level missions are filled with those multi-part missions. I don't think they occur on L3 missions, and unless things have been changed they do not exist in L4 missions. The trick is find a specific NPC standing to focus on so you can get up to L4 missions faster which will also bring better faction bonuses.
I have an extensive list of which NPC corps had the highest number of level 4 distribution agents but wrote these hard to read notes about a year ago. I think Freedom Extensions leads with 28, followed by Amarr Trade Registry at 22, Imperial Shipment Storage at 18, and Expert Distribution with 17 agents. |

sabre906 wrote:Train connections and skip lvl1s. You need to do one level one mission for Connections skill to work, and then train Connections 3.
Example: 0.01 base standing
Connections 0: 0.01 + 0 * (10 - 0.1) * 0.04 = 0.010 Connections 1: 0.01 + 1 * (10 - 0.1) * 0.04 = 0.406 Connections 2: 0.01 + 2 * (10 - 0.1) * 0.04 = 0.802 Connections 3: 0.01 + 3 * (10 - 0.1) * 0.04 = 1.198 <= You can do level 2 missions! Connections 4: 0.01 + 4 * (10 - 0.1) * 0.04 = 1.594 Connections 5: 0.01 + 5 * (10 - 0.1) * 0.04 = 1.990

i'd love to just train connections, but seeing as my raw standings with gallente the faction im trying to fix is -8.76 thats not going to work. I've pumped up diplomacy to 4 and got it down to -5.76. Not worth training to 5 though personally. I have more importants skills to train so i'll pump through missions for it. If its just lvl 1's having this error that explains why i'm now just seeing it. I've done distributions before but those were always 3 or higher.
It wasn't just the storylines or multi-missions that have odd ones, but it toss in a single combat mission here and there. Thankfully it is lvl 1 so a cheap frig is all i needed to haul over to assist in running through them. They are unfortunatly too common to skip the every 4 hours. and until my standings drop below -5 im stuck picking off single agents instead of running in mass lol.
Thanks for the help everyone 07 |

You might consider taking your "main" and having it and your bad standing character join FW.
Your "bad standing" character could accept Level 3 or 4 "missions" and your main could complete them.
A promotion is like + 10% Faction standing. That might get you to -2 fastest.
The alt could also just cap plexes.
The catch is... with such a low standing, they can't join FW by themselves. Your main's corp could join, then the alt could join for a dt or two (He'll get kicked) but he could rejoin, and in the meantime, raise his standings.
A bit more active that distribution missions, however.
Also: There's no Faction penalty for accepting a FW mission and not completing it.
