My corporation constantly sees these new corporations that are obviously trying to be a pirate corp. Little whimps with 3-5 members with illusions of grandeur. We are considering declaring war on them before they become a threat. I figure we wipe them out before they get a chance to become what they want to be.
Any other legitimate mining corps do this? Seems like if they advertise their intentions, we have to right to swat them before they can fight back.

Every pirate corp starts small, Phoenix Warriors and m0o were small till they combined and now look at them. Its not the numbers but the experience of the members :-)

Acctually, its the small pirate corporation, that are the threat.
I have so far, never ever seen a pirate from the large corps, since they are large and well known.
Everytime some of the large piratecorps are on the move, you can easily spot them, if you have even the smallest connections with other players, so since I always know where the large piratecorporations holding theire blockades I can fast replan my travels to avoid them. When you have a piratecorp with over 15 members, it becomes more of an army, rather then a pirategathering, and army aint stealthy, nor secret or infiltration secure.
A piratecorp with only a few members, can easyly strike, without warning, making a hit and run, grab ones cargo, and dissapear without a sign. Noone can keep track of them, and never will I be informed about theire wereabouts or locations. A small piratecorp, with inteligent members, that I fear. An army without purpose, I can easyly avoid.

well..if you stay a war while their small..theyll just avoid making a corp offically till they are strong..so you have to be ready to deal with them at all times ------------------------------------------------ Do not let the world change you. Change the world

you will find most pirate corporations cowards if you declare war on em. Almost a waste of time, because if you attack the little ones with anything more than a shuttle they all scurry like*****roaches to the nearest station.

Errhh.. Also, you SHOULD have problems starting war with pirates, since pirates in treal life, nor hear, never fought or will fight, battles they cant win. Kinda defeat the purpose of being a pirate...

I fail to see how big bad Aerick Dawn deems a Pirate any different than a regular player when "scurrying away" from a fight they can't win. Do we make some kind of*****roach movement that you guys don't when going to a station with our ships or....im kinda confused, help me out here.

Has viceroy ever actually stood an fought anything besides and ibis? Everytime I've ever encountered him he was running like the wind. Well, sure I will see him again blocking the Torr gate from Ec and will case him out again. Its always fun to watch em run.

I warped to a gate once and I noticed a guy with a -9.9 rating in a tristan. He didn't lock onto me but stayed there at the gate (guess he didnt want to take on a stabber alone) I was going to fire on him, but I checked his info first, it was from a corp we never encountered and his bounty was 82 isk. I just jumped through
I really don't like to pick on people who are just starting their careers, be they pirates or miners. Its just not good for the game if people quit and its just not something i can take pride in

Stop whinging about pirate tactics - of course they are going to hit and run - THATS WHAT PIRATES DO!
During the 18th Century, pirate ships on the Spanish Main didn't stick around for a punchup as soon as a load of Royal Navy frigates turned up after a raid. Why the hell should pirates in Eve be any different? Get a grip and deal with it. -------------------------------------------- Dead

"-9.9" "his bounty was 82 isk"
Hahaha. Sucker. I'm 0.0 and have a 1.5M isk bounty. Who da man?
Although, I find it hilarious that his bounty was that low. Talk about an insult. He obviously worked hard for that -9.9.
