RVB has filled some of my pvp desire for cheap thrills. However, i still lust for those old bc/bs fleet battles. Just throwing this idea out there, but how many of you would be up for a BvW concept similar to RVB, only the ship restrictions are BC and up?.
How nice would it be to have a evenly matched bs/bc fleet, have 5 system radious.. and then roam it till the 2 worlds collide. I got a 1200dps phoon collecting dust, I'm happy to fly this fker into the front lines of a memorable fleet battle (memorys of enjoyment rather then ''i got blobbed again''). So, no 50x snipers 200k off gate.. or over 9000 t1 frigates spamming tracking disruptors .
Ofc BS's and Bc's cost a damn lot more than frigs/cruisers so i would assume it would be better to have BvW as a week end type deal. Make your isk during the week, then buy a few bc/bs's for the week end. Through friday and saturday can be orginised fleet battles of 5v5 or even 10v10. On sunday, if people still have ships left over their can be 20v20 fleet battle (or more) and then another one and another.. should people still have ships to field.
Restrictions: Assuming the fleet is 10, a general feel for how the fleets could be set up (Double the below ship restrictions for 20 vessel fleets).
1 ecm boat max 1 nano boat (anything over 1500ms) max 1 sniper style (anything shooting from over 100k) max 2 logi boats max ( allow cruiser logi as the only exception to bs/bc size vessels?)
Dps vessel module restrictions:
1 ecm module limit per ship (Example, use TP or web or you use a td etc) 1 neut or vamp per vessel 1 RR/S per ship
Once engaged, you see it out to the end, no need for warp disruption modules unless you want a tactical scram.
X up if you are interested. The restrictions are naturaly up for opinion.

Just a tip - you might want to name it Green Vs. Yellow. "Black Vs. White" has some... unfortunate connotations attached to it. Mane 614

Don't you think the mechanics ccp impliment into eve are rules?.
As for the color choice.
What of the native americans?. They are commonly known as red indiands.
Also, bloods vs crips, Should i not dare wear blue when i fly around in eve.
A black man is a black man.. becuase that's the closest description to what he is. If that man takes offence, then he should stop calling the sky blue. It's not.

The color choice is fine. People will attempt to find outrage in everything. Our culture has decided it would rather find something offensive instead of changing ones own thinking.
The first thing I thought of with B v W, was the color. Not the color of people. If you think it is racist, it is a problem YOU have.
On to the main point, it would probably take a serious amount of work to get it going. This would be a long term alliance building plan. Also, keep in mind that fighting only once a week will not help grow the alliances - since people who can't fight on tuesday (or whatever day you choose) won't bother to join.
It is a very steep hill to climb, but I wish you the best of luck. This game is meant to work by people doing things.
Good luck! |

This isn't such a bad idea. Despite the color choices(Which I'm not against), it sounds like a nice idea where RvB is for the most part frigates/cruisers and BvW is BC+. I also recommend if that's where you wanna go(You did say BC/BS's, so I may be wrong), you could take it to another region with a mix of High/Lowsec if people want to bring out larger toys like Carriers, Supercaps and Titans.
Hell, I'd be willing to even set up one of the corps to do this. "Black shadows hanging over his shoulders Black mark up against your name Your green eyes couldn't get any colder There's red poison flowing through your veins..." AC/DC, Evil Walks |

your rules are overly restrictive.
compare them to the RvB rules. I'm a NPC corp alt, any argument I make is invalid. |

If you know a few persons like minded we can attempt to get it rolling. I'm not very clued up on corp/aliance details, but will ofc look into founding the other corp, unless a more experianced player would step up.

what allways kept me out of RvB was the restrictions. Make it permawar without restrictions and you will have more success I think. |

You can join RVB or goto most low sec systems if you your goal is frigate/cruiser spam. |

I think it's easier to restrict keeping the fighting out of The Forge since that's where RvB operates, everywhere else can be fair game. It sound like you want a small-ish tournament with weekly matches. Also I know you mentioned cost... but yea battleships cost a lot.
Also BS vs BS is not as fun as it sounds... its primary X until it dies 2 min later, then primary Y. The optimal setup will be fleet (10-15 man) of RR BS, you will just be wasting ammo as no one will ever die unless one side screws up horribly. Additionally, with your no warp policy, 98% of ships will be close range fit... meaning you will have mwd fitted blaster RR BS running around doing nothing. |

Low sec gate camps is something i'll never do.. boring and no challenge. Already done the nul sec blob warfare, anything else there is (or was) just nano. Last i read, it's the likes of daredevils that run around god mode these days.
It's a matter of opinion. A lot of people obviously love the above methods, fine by me.
The restrictions are not set in stone. The likes of BC may be alowed to use multiple neut's in aid of turtle counter. End of the day though, with a well fit BS that can cost minimum 300mil?.. i would not be complaining at a 10 min fight. In-fact, i'd be a bit pissed off for anything less, unless ofc yo went for a pure gank fit with no logi and full rack of guns/misisles dmg upgrades etc. That will understandebly end a lot sooner win or lose. |

You want to blow a couple billion ISKs worth of ships getting ganked in one afternoon?
That's the problem with perma war with shinier toys. You'll get to the point where people are mostly unwilling to undock unless they got a blob with more logis/falcons/whatever then the other side, "rules" be damned.
EDIT: With the summer expansion, just turn this into a match making service and let people enter into mutual group duels. |

That's the idea... ''Only'' if both fleets are matched will the roam begin. Both fleets will start opposit sides of the radious of systems (or entire region) and then you'd just play it as a normal fleet roam. Players can simply leave the corp's during the week and not apply to join again till the week end after they have all the ships they like to use in HQ ready to go (just like RVB).
Pretty much, you cut out the blob warfare with this idea.
And sorry but people do follow rules. Even RVB with its amount of randoms still do as they are told on the whole. If the FC's ask you to downgrade.. everybody downgrades. If not, they gey kicked?. People listen. OFc, you see the occasional noob poding but hell, you can't control everything. That's why i clone jumped to rvb every time so far (not that i've been podded yet).
Still looking for anybody willing to help me get this rolling. |

Me thinks cruisers should be backbone of that event. They are still cheap and there are many of them ! BCs could roleplay BSes here :) Frigates as support. CCP would love to see RVB on BS level but it is haevy unrealistic |
