Since Aurum came on the market aurum is ******, maybe it was the good intention of CCP giving us some aurum. But everything is going far under the tradeout value vs ISK. 3500 AURUM is supposed to be 1 plex, but you can buy more like 7000 AURUM for 1 plex on the market. This is prob also because you only can trade plex into aurum, but not aurum into plex.
So maybe an idee for CCP to implement that you can exchange aurum tokens, into plex.
Maybe CCP has different ways of getting aurum tokens into the market then just buy them by plex, cause if so then that would explain that aurum will never be worth what it supposed to be worth. |

Your correct in that one of the main reasons is it is a one way transaction. You can't convert AUR into plex or isk.
Also the fact that everything in the NEX store is useless may also contribute to why people want to get rid of their extra AUR at any cost. |

here is what would happen if aurum was able to trade both ways. ( isk to aur and aur to isk )
1) VV would make an enthusiastic thread comparing forex to Aurum/Isk complete with lots of cool looking graphs and details.
2) everyone would get rid of their aur |

CCP Gave out something like 5500*300,000=1,650,000,000 AUR for Free. 1,650,000,000/3500 = 471,425 PLEX 471,425*12 (the cheapest USD sub rate)=$5,657,142
So you're asking for (lower bound), CCP to give away $5 million in game time. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

Some has been consumed. Otherwise there would not be Incarna stuff on the market. So its not 5 million (but no idea how much less it is).
When the Aurum was introduced CCP published a "circle of life" diagram. It showed a PLEX being converted to Aurum, the Aururm being used to buy stuff in the Nex store, the Nex store items being sold for ISK, and the ISK being used to buy PLEX. That made it look like it was all interchangeable. But that circle is broken, as few would convert a PLEX to Aurum when tokens can be picked up on the market for less.
Recently CCP did add stuff to the Nex store, and I remember seeing one Dev post saying it was selling. So maybe CCP needs to add more stuff to the Nex.
An easy way to enable Aurum trading would be to make the Aurum token a Nex store item. You can already buy and sell those for ISK.
Of course, Aurum would get used up much faster if CCP would open the door. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

I noticed these aurum tokens on the market since I came back a while ago. Can someone elaborate as to how they work in comparison to plex? I thought aurum tokens were just award items back during the Eve-is-real campaign. Adapt or Die |

They want their currency to be useful.... put paint jobs in the store AND get WIS to the point where we can see someone other than ourselves in station.....
Also while I am at it, I would like to be able to play Texas Holdem, with isk in the stations..... and have rocket skates.... and the ability to fly down to planets and strafe the living crap out of the entire dusk battlefield.
(I expect all things in paragraph 2 to be equally likely to occur, and the paint jobs we were told were going to be put in the NEX store after they got the models re-done, of course I believe that falls under the trademark "soon".) |

So PLEX is converted to Aurum, Aurum is used to buy clothes, you sell clothes for ISK, ISK can buy PLEX. That sounds pretty circular to me. CCP kinda screwed with Incarna and the NeX store, by making Walking in Stations nothing more than eyecandy, then flooding Eve with free Aurum, while the demand for clothes wasn't that high leading to underpriced Aurum tokens.
