The Ocean of Lost Angels is visible from an immense distance within the devastated system of New Eden. From whence Gheinok led the remnant, only dust remains tangible, relics from the first obliteration of sin in that Prophet's time. All that still exists today in material form is blasted rock, and far within the great maelstrom, the physical manifestation of the Gateway to Paradise.
It is well known, as the Gateway to Paradise has been studied from afar for millenia, that Heaven's door is unapproachable. In every direction for millions of kilometers, immense power radiates outward and bars any from reaching this point, perhaps the single most holy location in all physical space. No technology known to man allows one to pass through, nor even come close.
The spirits of all mankind come to the Gate for their judgement, but when they are found lacking, they are cast back, and for eternity everafter are cursed to inhabit the empty void, forever separated from the God they shunned in unworthy Life. The hatred, despair and anguish of countless billions since antiquity fills the space around the entry to Paradise, its manifest power devastates all things of the mortal world that comes into its grasp.
The Ocean of Lost Angels, a poetic yet appropriate name for the void where those who have forsaken God must wander, where they cry and lash out against those who still live, should they ever trespass into the area. Any who do are surely damned to join them, as it is the depth of sin to think oneself worthy of reaching Paradise before your soul is called to be judged before the Divine.
Truly, none of us who live today are pure enough to pass, for your very existence in its corporeal form, your presence in New Eden, is itself a sin that all humanity commits. Only through the purifying and transformative death of the mortal vessel can one's freed soul fly to the Gate. The faithful will find their way through the swirling tempest to receive their everlasting peace, guided on their journey in both Life and Death by the teachings of the Blessed Prophet Ocilan. EoM believe in some odd things. Maybe as odd, or odder than the Cult of the Lash, or the Mul-Zatah, or any number of other heretic persons.
And you can totes get square eggs. I saw this Caldari invention thing, what you do, is you put a freshly boiled egg in this thing, and it has a screw lid, and it gently presses the egg into a cube. Then when it cools, you can slice it, and have square egg slices.

Koronakesh wrote: your very existence in its corporeal form, your presence in New Eden, is itself a sin that all humanity commits. The life of each individual, and the whole of New Eden, is a gift from God. Sure, there are many people that choose willfully to turn away from those gifts or to befoul them, and we all know where they will end up for their choice. But how dare you to say that every human being is guilty by the fact of it simply existing? God created our universe in this form and us in this corporeal form. Who are you to judge if God's creation has completely failed Him or not? God will judge our sins. Not you, or any other homicidal heretic or false prophet. |

Now, Tamiroth, dear ...
Tamiroth wrote:The life of each individual, and the whole of New Eden, is a gift from God. Life, perhaps, but to think the whole of New Eden is a gift intended for humanity is a horrid misunderstanding. This is a truly, truly sinful way of thought, and I must warn one to not entertain it.
Tamiroth wrote:But how dare you to say that every human being is guilty by the fact of it simply existing? How dare you assert that you are free from owing restitution? Prove your innocence. The Lord knows you, He will know what to make of you. I, however, do not know you, and until you prove otherwise you are an obstacle on the path to humanity's redemption.
Tamiroth wrote:God created our universe in this form His universe. It is His. Not "our," and certainly never "your" or anyone else's, but His and belongs to Him alone.
Tamiroth wrote:Who are you to judge if God's creation has completely failed Him or not? God's garden is perfect, it has not failed Him. It is we, right here, who have failed Him, and we will continue to pay for the grave error of our ancestors until we join our brothers and sisters in paradise.
And yes, He will indeed judge all our sins. |

Safai wrote:His universe. It is His. Not "our," and certainly never "your" or anyone else's, but His and belongs to Him alone. Even when someone is settled somewhere on a master's permission, he or she often takes to calling his abode "my home", even if he always remembers that his home and everything else around it belongs to his master. New Eden is our home. And it will be so until the Maker decides that it is time for us to leave.
Quote:Life, perhaps, but to think the whole of New Eden is a gift intended for humanity is a horrid misunderstanding. Perhaps. But our forefathers were brought here and allowed to settle throughout New Eden by the will of God, direct or indirect. When the ancestors of the races of the cluster had forgotten His light and fell into dark ages, He did not choose to exterminate the humanity that turned away from Him. Instead, He chose a group of people on Athra to bring forth His message - not the message of death and destruction, but a message of Reclaiming of human souls.
I understand. It is within the concept of Reclaiming that lies the difference. Sure, why bother with bringing billions of people to the light through multiple generations, when it is much easier just to kill them all and let God sort them out?
Quote:God's garden is perfect, it has not failed Him. It is we, right here, who have failed Him, and we will continue to pay for the grave error of our ancestors until we join our brothers and sisters in paradise. As long as there are true believers left, "we" - as in "the humanity" - have not failed Him. And even then, who knows -- if the Amarr fail at their divine task and the new Dark Age comes, God may chose another people to champion the newly ignited faith. Or not, and purge the New Eden of our presence - but it will be not up to EoM to decide.
Quote:How dare you assert that you are free from owing restitution? Prove your innocence. A restitution of what? If you are talking about my soul, God can claim it any second as easily as a random particle might collide with other and fall apart. We all have a purpose. If I am still alive, then my preordained purpose is not yet fulfilled.
I am not innocent; noone is. But you are not God or his messenger; you are not a mortal steward he put in charge of the faithful, or one of the clergy, or a Speaker of Truth; you hold no authority over me and so I am not obliged to prove anything to you.
Quote:The Lord knows you, He will know what to make of you. I, however, do not know you, and until you prove otherwise you are an obstacle on the path to humanity's redemption. To the perverse path of "redemption of humanity" through mass slaughter I am, indeed, an obstacle, and I'll try to do my best to be as annoying of an obstacle as one failed history student made into a pilot can be. |

Tamiroth, thank you for the swift reply.
Certainly, I agree with you on some points made: your record of Athra is correct and I am glad you understand the crucial difference lies in God's edict to the Amarrian people. What troubles me is your interpretation of the path; this is not the easy way to the Reclaiming, like you so assert. There is truly nothing easy about the Reclaiming at all.
What our blessed prophet Ocilan shows us, however, is a restoration of the original; the very purpose of the decree being to guide the Lord's wayward children back to Him. Our prophet Ocilan's doctrine is backed by the teachings of the oracle Aramon Khalid, culled from scripture during the early days of an Empire going corrupt, in a vile attempt to twist the Reclaiming for covetous desires. What Aramon Khalid shows us, and what the Empire's Theology Council denies, is God's clear disapproval of our presence here and how we can be at His side once again. You understand by now that I believe the burden of that error our ancestors made, along with the sin we brought into the Lord's garden, still rests on humankind here today.
The Gallenteans actually once came very close to discovering this on their own, I believe; from what I understand, their findings correlate with Aramon Khalid's testimony of humanity entering the Lord's garden through a single point and actually stems from studying Amarrian antiquity. Unfortunately the message was not properly received by them, and now forms the basis of what the scientific community calls the "common origin theory." It really is a shame.
But I am digressing. You speak of New Eden as if it is your home when it is not, which you have even illustrated for meGÇöbeing an "often" done thing does not make it any holier in the eyes of the LordGÇöand the Lord has spoken to his faithful throughout the ages to make it clear that our home is not here.
And of course, our Lord can claim your soul as easily as you say, but you do yourself a disservice by stating it in a way that sounds like you expect God to come down and claim you Himself .... when I think we both know he does not work as blatantly as that. So no, it will not be the Equilibrium's decision New Eden be cleansed. That decision is God's alone, and we will see it done.
I am God's messenger. One of few. |
