In my opinion:
You have some low level support skills that should be done. I see them in Drones Gunnery Missiles
A couple of those supports are not so low level (x4 and x5 multiplier), but I would train them to 'complete' the catagory. |

Looking through those 3 areas Drones and Missiles I've only really started working on them fairly recently in the grand scheme of things, so I realise that there is work to be done there.
Looking at Gunnery, the only support skills not at 5 is Rapid Firing, and Surgical Strike. Surgical Strike is definitely one that I had forgotten about. However Rapid Firing I've always been hesitant to actually train, mostly due to the increased cap usage of my lasers that it causes, I suppose that it doesn't really effect the other weapons systems in the same way, at least not to the same extent and will actually be useful for them. |

Think about it, though. Rapid Firing increases your DPS by the same percentage that it increases your cap/s. And generally, any given percentage increase in DPS is actually a slightly larger percent decrease in the time it takes to kill a given target, due to the target having less time to regen. So in the end, the total amount of cap it requires to kill a given target is slightly decreased by additional levels of Rapid Firing. And since you kill the target quicker, you also take less incoming damage. If that level of Rapid Firing pushes you into cap instability, you can always rest your guns (or something else) for a few seconds when you need to. |

I think I just found 2 skills that will help me mitigate the increased cap usage from my guns on most of my fits, Afterburner 5 and Fuel Conservation 5. I do however understand your position on the competing DPS/tanks of you and your enemy. |

I don't think I've trained those skills since I was on trial account/early months, way back in 2007. I'm actually kind of surprised that these skills are not required for the T2 Hardeners/Resistance Plates, if they were I probably wouldn't have over looked them. |

You don't need to be cap stable, that's as simple as that. Fights usually last only a couple of minutes and logis can give you caps. Also it's fairly common to see neuts so even if your ship is cap stable you may run out of cap...
The last part, and probably the most important one, you don't want to fit mods/rigs that improve your cap. Just use these slots to fit additionnal tank/dps mods.
tl;dr train rapid firing V ! |
