Since 1.1.4 I've had relatively few issues. On the day the patch was released, both clients I was running (docked in Amarr) had a "socket was closed" error which had me worried but the days since have been uneventful. Until last night when I was hauling faction mods in a slicer to Jita and at the exact moment I was docking, I got my first "CCPexe has stopped responding" error. I probably should've generated a dump file since that actually finally happened, but I was overwhelmed with feelings of "omg, now? wtf!" and restarted the client immediately. When I restarted I was docked safely and all was well. So for me, a few hiccups here and there (when visiting hubs) but otherwise no issues to report.

I'm white screen-crash-free since 1.1.5. It used to happen at least once every few hours and sometimes more, so good work. I'm confident enough in my client now to pvp in something more expensive than an ibis
I don't know if this is related to the white screen issue, but the screen pauses sometimes for a split second when there is a volley hitting someone at jita 4-4 or something like that, but it's infrequent and doesn't bother me. However I do have the gut feeling that it was during those pauses that the client use to freeze up. |

As tol before - my clients run stable again after the latest patch.
Many reported before that the Retribution Patches increased resource usage signifcant. I watch a strange behaviour. Due to a hdd crash I have to switch my 5 clients to my main comp. Thsi machine has nearly the same specification in performance.
Main comp short: 4GB RAM, Quadcore @3,42 per Core, Radeon 5850 - Win Vista 64bit
Secondary comp short: 4GB RAM, Quadcore @3,2 per Core, Radeon 4870 - Win 7 64bit
Its quite fascinating that RAM usage is nearly the same (have the option on that allows the clients to cache more to run more playable) but CPU usage is lower than one half. Clearly, my CPU on the secondary comp is permanently running at 90% average, the Win Vista client is only by 35%. How this happens, I cannot tell - but this will maybe give you a better view. Win7 is something handling very very wrong, I suppose.
I setup my game setting exactly to the same like on my secondary one (lowest graphic power).

I have not played much post patch, the little I have seems stable, but again I have not logged many hours since...
But in the week or two pre patch the game became unresponsive several times. The last freeze up resulted in a ship loss for me.
My shields were showing passively charging(increasing not decreasing), I could hear their guns shooting at me. My ship was still moving away relative to the station in the mission. No mouse clicking or hot keys would do anything. I couldn't turn, leave, target, or open the menu to try logging out. I had to Alt-Tab and close Eve via Task manager and restart the game.
Lost a Sliepnir in a simple Damsel Distress mission, Their logs don't show any issues on their end, so they will not reimburse the ship. I could solo Angel Extraveganza's with little worry in this ship.
I thought CCP had changed and started giving a damn about players again, but apparently;y I was mis informed. :-(
I submitted a petition with dxdiag logs, windows event viewer logs, the Eve tool logs, all showed inconclusive, and without positive evidence, ships are not replaced by CCP. Even with a critical known bug.
Just Sad.

i have a potential fix to this issue... i disabled crossfire and since then it has not happened...nor have any of the other issues i was experiencing with eve... therefore i think eve has a compatibility issue with crossfired setups... |

I must advise everyone here that CCP and in particular GM Banton has resolved my issue very satisfactorily.
A big Thank you to him and his team for all their patience & help, and I hope they successfully resolve the freezing issues for everyone.
Designing code for such a diverse pool of hardware that is out there, and the ever increasing demand on the Eve "Sandbox" servers must be a constant challenge for them!

this issue went away with the patch in the first week of march.
now for whatever reason, it has returned. I have just had two clients white out before I could even log them in. |

I am closing this thread as the client freeze issue caused by graphic effects has been resolved, any other client freeze in different scenarios will be investigated as they are reported.
If you are still experiencing a client freeze or crash of any kind we urge you to file a bug report here.
