This is a proud, traditional rite-of-passage that every true mission runner must perform before he becomes a man.
Perform your missions and salvage them as you usually do, until you accumulate the funds to procure a Drake BPC and the recycled materials to construct it. Do not under any circumstances buy minerals - even a single unit of purchase zydrine will irrevocably taint the noble spirit of the act and render the attempt null and void, requiring that you start over from the beginning. From your recycled materials, using leftover mission funds to pay for the factory fees, construct the Drake. Continue missioning until you have all the modules neccessary to fit the Drake. If you mission in an area in which the rats you are sent against do not drop the correct modules, it is acceptable to use funds procured from destroying them to fit your ship. However, try to use as many recovered modules as possible. Construct rigs only from salvage you've obtained yourself. It is entirely permissable to buy missile ammunition as well, since rats generally don't drop enough of it.
When the Drake is fully fitted and armed, accept and successfully complete at least one mission of level 3 or above in the Drake, turning the materials of the enemy straight back against them in the form of your Recycle Drake, sewn together from the shattered ruins of a thousand NPC corpses.
You are no longer just a missioner. You are a part of a grand cycle of death and rebirth that stretches from the dawn of time to the vanishing point of eternity. Andreus Anthony LeHane Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor Media Consultant, Voyeur Studios |

And, this precisely, is why the Caldari will never win the war against Gallente.
Gallente rite of passage -
Go ahead perform missions in your little drone ship, saving up funds to buy a Dominix blueprint. As you accumulate the salvage from the charred wrecks of the insidious Caldari slowly you will amass a pile of minerals which will allow you to start dreaming of building up that Dominix. Make sure you keep all those drones you find (except of course the far inferior amarr ones) you will need them later.
Keep at it - it will take a little while.
Right then now you build your Dominix and lo and behold you will need to fit it. Make sure you grab all those modules you will need, with a bit of perseverance you will find just about everything except for some of the drone related modules. Should you need a drone link augmentor go to Dodixie and talk to the representatives from Impetus. It will not be simple but they can help you out.
You will also need to do a stint in the federal defence union to fly for the federation and protect the freedoms which we so cherish. This is essential as loyal service to the federation will provide you with two key items not available elsewhere - Federation Navy Gardes (the pride of our fleet) and Federation Navy Omnidirectional Tracking Links (you really want these).
Keep working hard at it. You are well on your way to success. Rigs of course will also need to be made from the leftover wrecks of your vanquished foes. Keep vanquishing.
Under no circumstances will you purchase ammunition - this is clearly a show of weakness which only the Caldari would consider acceptable. You will make yourself from the left over wrecks of your enemies. It is not hard to do.
The more astute amongst you will have rapidly noted that the rite of passage described above allows true Gallente patriots to show their worth as well. In particular those who buy a Dominix BPO rather a measely BPC and those who actually continue to work with the FDU to upgrade their trusted old warhorse to the pride of the fleet - the Navy Dominix - will indeed have shown their mettle. I'm sure someone will sooner or later make a documentary holoreel about their lives (which I will in all probability not have time to watch as I prefer things which are a bit more ah... entertaining).
Of course, the truly enterprising pilots are the ones who put aside some spare room in their cargohold to house a sow and her piglets - ideally from Raneilles stock - so that when finally the achievement is complete, they can be slaughtered for the celebration.
(NB: When you are done with that start saving up reprocessed materials for your Nyx - it will be unlike any other!) |

No, it's the genetive plural of a third declension noun, namely "nox". The genetive singular is noctis.

I have over 500,000,000 isk worth of minerals sitting in one station from salvaging and reprocessing. And that's after building a bunch of stuff already. Furthermore, that's the "right-click, sell as" value. They'd be worth more if I moved them to a trade hub where the buy prices are competitive. I could probably build 15 drakes and have spare minerals left over.
In another station I am now 2 days shy of producing 1,000,000 scourge missiles...and I still have enough minerals left over to build probably another 500,000 more.
All of the aforementioned minerals are entirely from reprocessed parts from L4 missions. I am a missioner with L4 Ore Industrial, perfect (high sec) reprocessing and perfect production. I also own hundreds of blueprint originals, many of them overly researched to perfection just because I can.
And don't get me started on salvage...
The point to my post? This has been done before. In fact I'm sure many people have done this very thing, too. If you want to do it, and you think it will spice up the game for you, go for it. But there's really nothing new here. . |

The thing is, isnt caldari the roleplay equivalent to market driven no law capitalist socie... i mean mafia? I mean the true caldari spirit through roleplay imo should be scamming in jita, using sell orders + scams to buy minerals then scam some more with contracts while keeping the drake then selling the drake for outrageously high with some market trick, turn all that isk into more scams. No? |

I believe it to be Noctae.
Coupled with it's sister hull, the Primae, forms a medieval term of the right to claim a bride on her wedding night from lords.

By the time it didn't take all week to refine enough minerals to build a bc or bs, I had a machariel. I since have made many many many post consumer ships and items.
I do however roleplay that whenever I lose a ship that I didn't build, it was the slacker who built its fault.

Oy. I don't have any idea why I'm doing this.
Rainis Rotheran wrote:I believe it to be Noctae.
You believe wrong. Noctium, genitive. In fact, "noctae" isn't even a valid latin word. "Primae" is the genitive ordinal "first".
Rainis Rotheran wrote:Coupled with it's sister hull, the Primae, forms a medieval term of the right to claim a bride on her wedding night from lords. Primae Noctis
Or more accurately, jus primae noctis, which would render as something like "right (or law) of the night of the first". And if you wanted to pluralize you'd end up with "jura primarum noctium".
(If my amateur etymology is borked and "primae" ought to be understood in the dative rather than the genitive, someone please let me know. I actually don't know **** about romance languages.)
Now returning to your otherwise also pointless thread. |

Hehe, all I am saying is that the two ships put together looks like they are from that term.
Cheers for correcting me on the plural of Noctium....I really didn't know why you did all that either, that was a few mins you are never gonna get back. |
