Hey guys,
I am using this fit on my Maelstrom for run lv 4 mission:
http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/9647-Maelstrom-Heavy-Shield-Tank.html
But to be honest isn-Št that good , i would like to know if someone can give me a better fit to run lv4 mission on caldari space.
Thank you |

That fit is way overtanked. If you absolutely must use ACs in the mission, start with this template:
Maelstrom 8x 800mm AC II 100mn AB, 3x Gyro II, 2x TE II
I was never really satisfied with the AC Maelstrom in missions and felt that the falloff past about 30km just ate too deeply into my damage. The 1200mm Arty Maelstrom always worked better for me, personally. Once I moved up to the Vargur, however.... :)

Liang's fit is the one.
But I preferred ACs on a Mael, falloff or not.
Also, once you realize L4s are not that hard, get some damage rigs. |

Since you run missions in caldari space, I assume you get a lot of gurista ew. The problem with gun boats and gurista e2 is that you can do nothing until you lock the target. On the other hand, a missile boat can switch from regular missiles to auto-targeting missiles and keep, at least trying, to kill the rats. While gun boat has to wait for gurista ew to end its cycle.
The best advice I can give you is to move to matari or gallente space and run missions against angels and serpentis. Life is short and dinner time is chancy Eat dessert first! |

That battleclinic fit pains me to even watch...
I used a semi-faction Maelstrom with meta guns for quite some time while doing lvl 4's. Was fit somewhat like this:
Quote: Maelstrom
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer Tracking Enhancer II Tracking Enhancer II
Pith A-Type X-Large Shield Booster Shield Boost Amplifier II Caldari Navy Adaptive Invulnerability Field EM Ward Field II Thermic Dissipation Field II Republic Fleet 100MN Afterburner
800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I 800mm Heavy 'Scout' Repeating Artillery I
Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hammerhead II x6 Hobgoblin II x8
The CCC rigs was just because I'm lazy and I found them useful in keeping the AB running while having more cap for tank as well. The RF Afterburner is a lot better on cap use and speed than the T2, and it goes for around 70m on contracts. Rest of the pimp isn't needed, but with a T2 X-Large Shield Booster I think you need a CPU implant if I remember correctly.
If you find yourself having a lot of problem with getting jammed, remember to train the Ladar Sensor Compensation skill, and if you feel like it's needed swap out a low- or midslot for an ECCM (should not be necessary). |
