I just got from the store the latest copy of PC Gamer in the US, included was a "free" 14 day trial for the game. I say "free" cause I had to buy the magazine. Still, worth checking out as there are other things on the DVD and I just like PC Gamer. I'll probably try it out as I like to play WoW and not pay for it, can't justify the cost atm though. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

WoW broke the million subscriber mark about 6 months ago. i doubt they're concerned about *lack* of players or ppl leaving.
WoW endgame sucks. I have a 60 rogue, nice gear, boring as hell.

Tsunami? ****, more like a hurricane. WoW players arent leaving anytime soon. Blizzard just created 3 more servers. Besides, the 1 million subscriber mark i mentioned earlier was reached prior to the game being released in korea, china and taiwan. they're pushing 3 1/2 mil now. They game has been out almost 1 year.. WoW isnt going anywhere.

Errr... 2M customers, 100s GMs and 100s of customer care personnels, that ratio doesnt look correct ;O
Besides, with that kind of player base, it is hard to sustain it. Nothing in this world can keep shooting uphill like a rocket, not even economy ;/ Just my personal opinion.

My brother plays this, and it seems that every time he gets a character around level 25ish he starts a new one. Out of bordom from grinding, I assume. He'll probably stop playing in about 2 months because he'll have made a character of every race and class and will have nothing left to do. -----------------------------------------------

the player base is 3.5 mil strong. compare quarterly earnings before and after the release of the game and before and after the release of the game in specific asian markets. no, blizzard doesnt have nearly enough CS agents to cover their problems. I called once prior to the game being released in asia and was on hold for 3 1/2 hours. ppl (including myself) quit daily. blizzard could care less as long as the number of new players > players who quit. a 14-day trial posted in a magazine is NOT indicative of a shrinking customer base. its nothing more than a scheme to subdue more ppl. initial/retail sales are <1% of their gross monthly income.

Hmmm... if their customer base is so strong and couldnt care less, and if I am Blizzard, I wouldnt even bother to offer 14-day trials because they only add to my servers' load. Anyway, the point is, their growth is way too fast and also you and some and maybe many more have and will be quitting WoW, therefore, what goes up fast, must come down pretty fast...
It is just that I see their business model isnt working right, at least in my own personal opinion. Probably, Blizzard would be a nice case study in the future of the term "overnight boom/success" ;p

Me too, also at 43. Had a warrior, was just boring. Very linear gameplay and all the good quests either took ages or needed groups. Also i thought BoE equipment was a daft idea, there have been lots of fights about rare drops...

My housemate does this, was one of the reasons I stopped playing. Still, nice to know he isn't the only one lol.

Endgame pvp inn wow wasnt all that bad really, was somewhat entertaining.
BUT WoW endgame content is: Grind instances over and over again for the lootz you need to complete your set.
lvl 60 shammy bored as hell=quit -------------------------------------------------> What I look forward to is continued immaturity followed by death.

I think...
WoW is a nice game but the element of WoW is to reach level 60 and once you are there, it is basically Diablo 2, Warcraft 3 Edition. If you do not like Diablo 2, you will not like this game.

Funny how I loved D2, but hated WoW. Of course EVE came in between the two, might have had something to do with it.

I leveled two chars to 60, did some endgame instances MC/Onyxia, got two pieces of epic loot, was in top 10 standings after honor patch came out, and got bored out of my skull and cancelled my subscribtion.
People used to tell me that WoW sucks after a while, I didn't believe them until it hit me

What really sucks, now that I ahd a chance to play it, is that it is a RESTRICTED trial. There is no trading between players, no using the auction house, no ability to use different chat channels.
I bet you can't join any guilds or even advance beyond a certain level either.
In other words, a rather crappy trial.
Now I wish I didn't buy the PC Gamer in the first place (good mag, but got it for the demo only). -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Fairy RPG's are boring. To much dwarfs, elf, wizard whatever kinda things, it's like waking up from a nightmare after you drank (smoked, or whatever) to much the night before... ------------------------------------------ Member of the [23] Follower of the Blood Revolution. Sani Sabik.
