Hi
It seems drakes in groups of 2s , 3s or more can run C3s with no risk of gettting blown up ... not sure what their completion rate is for comabt sites.
Can any one suggest what their builds might be and does anyone have any experience trying to do such a thing ... pros and cons ?
Was going to run some C3s and thought rather than go with something shinny , a low cost option might be better.
Thanks |

I've done it with a pair of drakes before, its not as hard as you think it is. Slow, but excluding outside circumstance, its easy. |

You can solo them in Drakes, or you could use RR drakes, similarly fit to RR tengus, just completely lacking DPS. Those would most likely even work for C4s. |

Do also note that as posted in a thread in this forum that the effects of WH's could greatly alter the performance of the drakes. Perhaps making it a lot easier, or harder. |

I fly amarr so this might not be accurate but im going to go on a limb here and guess:
High: rack of HML II-s,
Mid: 3 x large shield extenders 2 x invul 1 x 10 mn AB or target painter
Low: balance between ballistic control and shield power relay (if tank holds it needs more bcs and vice versa)
Rig: Purgers.
Any proffesional could tell am i close? I can bet my arse theres a trillion drake fits on battleclinic as everyone and their half braindead dog seem to fly drakes or tengus..
Though like i said i fly amarr, lazors, armor and golden paintjobs. My knowledge of caldari is smaller then justin biebers wiener. |

Pretty much spot on there. There are various combos that can work. I used to use a fit that had 2x LSE, 2x invuln, shield recharger and a painter in the mids. Think the lows were BCUs + shield power relays.
Power diagnostics can work too to help squeeze in more shield extenders to use passive regen more so than resists and vice versa... |

I used to use something like this, i could get by with two shield power relays on most sites, the tougher mag and radar sites depending on how many people we had Id sometimes go with 4 shield power relays and a small cap transfer in the high in case someone needed some cap to get out. Now with a supporting carrier or higher dps ships it was usually this fit or 2 BCS. DPS is lacking but it will tank it quite well for the most part. 2 BCS will take a 1% implant though and the last high open. or a 5% if you leave a small cap transfer in the hi.
Oh sometimes I dropped the 3rd large extender for an AB. Just depended on how many people we had etc.

Close, but you would run out of fitting before you get all of that in there. Here's a nice cheap fit that I always suggest to people, two of them should do fine in a C3, just toss in a salvaging alt in a destroyer and you're all good.

Even with this, you'll need very good skills to make the CPU fit (if you are short on CPU, you can trade for named hardeners though). It's possible to use T2 HMLs, but from what I've seen it requires trading most of your tank to named modules to get the fitting room for them. |

Drakes are great starter ships for w-space, just as their **little** sister, the tengu, is a great improver ship.
Drakes solo C2s without much trouble, and can solo C3s ... not quickly and not without great care. You have an almost infinite number of fitting options available to you ... depending on how you approach your sleeper killing and where your skill training is at.
Our w-space drakes were vaguely similar to those previously posted, except we tended to use an EM shield rig and a pair of purgers. We also tended not to fit ABs ... ship has decent range and they have pretty major fitting requirements. Of course there are few absolute rights and wrongs in ship fitting ... whatever ppl would have us believe :-)
Here's the sort of w-space fitting approach we took ... and not terribly different to our later tengu.
7 x Heavy Missile Launcher (Scourge variant ammo)
Large Shield Extender Explosion Dampening Field Heat Dissipation Field Ballistic Deflection Field Photon Scattering Field Invulnerability Field
1 or 2 x Ballistic Control System - Balancing gank and tank. 2 or 1 x Shield Power Relay - Balancing tank and gank as desired. Damage Control - I love DCs, some ppl donGÇÖt like using them
1 x Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer 2 x Medium Core Defence Field Purger
Juggle things, and the meta of the modules, to suit needs and skills. I tended to use T2 except for the specific hardeners (CN are not too expensive ... unlike their invul), BCUs (CN), and SPRs (T1 meta4). Our fit differs a little to some of the others in that we are relying a little more on resistances and a little less on buffer ... to each their own :-)
Of course we're not cap-stable either and so need great care when threatened with being neuted.
Earlier versions used fitting mods or / and ACR rig to help squeeze everything onboard.

To solo a C3 anom's in a drake, or any other ship, you need to have an 450 omnitank. Anything less and you will be warping out. If you go in more than 1 you could get away with less but the sleepers will switch targets at their own pace or unless the targeted drake warps away. It also makes a big difference if you use T2 scourges on the bs's. |

Lol.
That's 450 per battleship for the record. You will only be solo fortifications with that.

Nope.. used this for almost a year, never had any problems, sometimes the shields would hover round 15%, but that's cause I don't shoot the argos in outpost. |

grumpy's Drake fit is perfectly adequate for C3 anoms, I've used an almost identical fit myself. I use a couple of cheap implants (KYA1000 and KVA1000) to bump the tank to about 530dps. It's also cap stable above the magic 55% for C3 anomalies. I only ever use T1 drones, and even those rarely. Your dps is always going to be on the thin side; you may take 25-30 minutes per anomaly. Two or three of these boats can finish any anomaly in under 15.
Considering the entire fit, implants and a big wedge of ammo will cost you less than 70 mill and can be fully insured, it's really a no-brainer if you have the patience :) |

3 of them will allow you to run C3 sites at a decent rate, not great though. I use a drake and 1 NH and im happy with that,. will upgrade to 2 NH when training is done for other char.
advantage of drake/NH is that you don thave to worry about being webbed or neuted ( as long as you invul II are active ) , just fit a passive tank with 2/3 purger rigs, 2 invul II, 3 LSE2, and 1 EM resist amp 2 and you wont have any trouble.
You will need at least 2 drakes, to do anom in a reasonable time, 3 or 4 is much better |

If your going in a gang you can fit more BCU's if you spider the fleet. Youll need fitting mods (or imps) though. |
