Maybe when they finally get off their behinds and do something about bots in the busiest system in game the result could be that there would be enough room in Jita for everyone who wanted to get in without hitting the user limit.
It's a f* disgrace.

Maybe as simple as ejecting spammers into a near-by system. In space. With a criminal flag. Would discourage human spammers as well as the bots. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Would take all day to block that many. Bottom line is if its not legal for one it should not be legal for any. |

This annoys me as well, though I notice it's mainly contracts that are being spammed. So I made a suggestion to add a 1-2 minute cooldown between each contract post on local chat.

How hard is it to just add a session timer hyperlinks in chat channels? You can only hyperlink once every 2 minutes. Problem solved.
EDIT, look at the counter for the most spammed message in Local at the moment... SOmebody has spammed a contract about Plexes 8500 times?!?
You seem to be contradicting yourself. This is a dozen people spamming the same message, not someone spamming new accounts. It shouldn't be too hard to block them all. Posting on the forums would have been harder than blocking them.
Also, "oops I posted the wrong link, I'll post the right one... in 2 minutes". DirectX 11, it's not rocket appliance! |

Its not just that these botters are spamming Jita local (its already useless) it is that they are taking up the limited number of population slots in Jita making it harder to get in the system. "Entitlement" is a euphemism for "I hate the way you play and it makes me cry like a baby". If you fantasize about being immoral it means you enjoy being immoral deep down. |

Bcause if it were not so overrun with 'bots, real people could use it effectively. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

But this "player" have been spamming Jita local for the last 10 days 23/7 every 3-5 second. I know for a fact that people have been talking in Jita local about this person as a spambot so I find it hard to believe this has not been petitioned. If not a bot then at least ban this "player" for continuous spamming. Im not going to mention any names but anyone who spends more than 10 mins in Jita would know who im talking about.
So I guess my question is does CCP now allow bot spamming? Jita has local? "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." -H.L. Mencken |

I hope not, I'm somewhere over 8,600 blocked and don't want to erase it to cleanse all the spambots that have been biomassed over the years. |

It takes about 2 sec to realize that it's a macro and not a person, his posting timers every 6s is (I would like to claim) impossible to carry out for a person for that duration. Even some small CCP tool could spot those and ban instantly if they wanted.

Anyway, as I was trying to say... His (its?) frequency is impressive, compared to most other apparent macros. Makes him an A1 target for the banhammer. If CCP banned spambots, that is.

Tbf, Amarr has had an increase of players that appear to be using Macros/Bots I'd imagine the other hubs might be the same also?
End of the day, many players will do whatever they think they can get away with, and the block list is only a stop-gap since alot of alts are recycled every couple of weeks |

As usual, the best manner in which to force CCP to do something about an obvious problem like this is to publicly humiliate them with some bad press.
Chribba, don't be so nice about all this. Go talk to The Mittani or someone else who writes for themittani.com. Get an article up, and let people know CCP is blatantly ignoring bots in the most populated system in the game. Reading the EVEO forums is like huffing gas or sniffing glue. Sure it's funny and you get high, but you pay a terrible, terrible price in the long run. |

Yeah like http://themittani.com/features/chribbas-jita-spam-bot-research which sadly did not produce the amount of lowering of spam we could have hoped for. But hopefully the lack is a build up to something way bigger and more automatic. Can only hope.

Lets be honest, we all know it's happening CCP know it's happening We know that they know it's happening They know that we know it's happening
Yet nothing seems to happen
Of course, we know even if CCP does warn/suspend/ban all the obvious ones, it'll lead to the more complicated ones becoming common place There are a few 'bots' that will spam local, but each message will be slightly different (basically I'm guessing the bot/macro has a large list of messages and it randomly picks one and posts it, and it wouldn't be hard to ensure repeats don't happen) |

Plausible.
Alternatively; more spambots, posting less frequently. Which wouldn't help the population situation any, to be sure.
