I'm interested in how many and what type of T2 BPOs are still in the game. If that info is available I would appreciate if that knowledge could be shared. If the exact numbers are not available a good ball park estimate would be welcome. Thanks.
Oh, I'm not interested in a discussion of the efficacy of such BPOs. We Have all heard it before, on one side, "there's nothing to these T2 BPOs, they give me no advantage", on the other side "it's so unfair that I don't have what you have and it unbalances the game". Spare us going down that thread. |

Spare us going down that thread. Most T2 BPO's are not even used for manufacturing, they are collectors items. If you want to make isk off it, you will get more from selling it then you could make off using it for over a year.
It does not matter how many there are in the game, or even which T2 items have BPO's in game.
The only source for this info is CCP, and they will not even consider sharing that info due to the volatility of the T2 BPO's are unfair crowd.
Just forget they even exist and carry on with the knowledge that some T2 items are profitable, and some are not.
And for the record 60-70% of the T2 items currently in game were introduced after the T2 BPO lotteries were stopped. So most T2 items do not even have BPO's let alone enough to actually influence the market. |

Yeah it's just best to ignore CCP's bias and stupidity as it's such a constant factor in all areas of the game. They will never give out a T2BPO list or announce who won the initial lottery because then people will just rage at how blatently obvious the corruption within the game is.
It's the same with reimbursements they never publish those either, which they should do weekly. All dem supers you destroyed, REIMBURSED LOL'Z. |

There isn't really a way to get even an accurate number of how many are still in game. Since it can't be determined how many were given away though the lottery (you can get an idea of the numbers, but not very accurate) and it cannot be known how many have been lost though ship destruction because the kill boards haven't been able to tell the difference between BPC T2's and BPO T2s. And there are the T2 BPOs on accounts no longer active.
The best way to determine a rough idea is to search though the sell order forums for T2 BPO sales, and contracts. There are some bits ot data also released on the number of T2 manufactureed items based on though invention of T2 BPO's (I think released by CCP) but will require some searching around. Here is one link with some of the data (Near the end of the article). |

There is no way you will get an accurate picture of how many are left and in production.
We have over 100 of them and about 80% of them are in production. I know of at least two other corporations with over 60. Often when they go up for sale you'll see one person bidding on multiple prints. I suspect that the majority of print holders have several prints.
While it's true if you purchase a print you'll never get your ISK out of it. However if a person or corporation has several prints the individual prints return on investment isn't as important as boosting your income cycle. We still buy prints to increase our bi-monthly revenue. We're just picky about which prints we buy. |

I seem to recall a kill where a freighter with 2 Scimitar BPO were destroyed. |

If a person has a T2 BPO that is profitable they'd have to be stupid to not have it in production. I know several people with a few prints and they build from them. Even if your intent upon buying a T2 BPO is just to resell it later it would be in production while in your possession. The ISK you make in the time between acquiring it and selling it is the only reason to buy it in the first place as there is no gaurantee you will be able to sell it for more than you payed for it.
It primarily depends on the BPO you have, for Example I have a precision light missile BPO which isn't very useful. I could build from it but the market is very thin to begin with and I looked into the numbers and it wasn't really worth the time and capital investment. So I hold onto it as more of a collectors item than anything else. However more popular BPOs are very profitable. I once podded myself by blowing a huge fart. |
