And came across a description of a lovely little place: La Maison De Tous Les Plaisirs. Apparently, it was a high class establishment for socializing and entertainment run by Jade Constantine, several years ago. I wonder, whatever happened to it? Was it shuttered for good or did it evolve into something else? I don't know if Ms. Constantine reads the IGS anymore, but I would very much like to visit, if it--or a more current incarnation--is still open. It clearly existed. The Galnet archives do not lie. I'm saddened that no no longer exists. It seemed like an interesting place and a good setting to meet the enigmatic Jade Constantine. Staff Writer: themittani.com -á If you are going anywhere else to get your Eve News, you are wrong.

Given that one of Ms. Constantine's more notable accomplishments was figuring out how to allow several hundred relatively small corporations to wardec your gigantic alliance for free (prior to CONCORD's conspicuously hasty intervention) - rather than at a cost of hundreds of millions if not billions of ISK - it would be a bit remarkable for you to not be familiar with her.
I suspect you are spoofing us (again), my dear.
That said, I do miss some of the Fraction's larger-than-life personalities, Jade herself, Uncle Cosmo, uh... all right, two. And of course, I always enjoyed getting an update from the sex dungeon aboard Revan's large phallic battleship, but she was her own deal. |

I am, of course, familiar with who she is. That does not mean, however, that I do not want to meet her and get to know her a little bit. Like The Mittani, I would not say that I knew him until I really started talking to him in person. He's much more charming and dashing than most people make him out to be.

Fair enough. Ms. Constantine possessed, and likely continues to possess, an intense personality that I suspect you would find better observed from afar - a True Believer, as it were. But I misjudged how much of an effort you would make in our little corner already, and so far be it from me to judge how well such an encounter might turn out. |

La Maison used to be a pleasant venue filled with open hedonism for all, till Ms. Constantine decided to behave like the tyrant that she purported to detest and began to ban anyone who committed the crime of merely disagreeing with her in politics.
The place hasn't been worth visiting for the past 7 years - so why bother? |

Not really. In my investigations on who this Sepherim I'm usually mistaken with is, I've found he spent plenty of time there. And he didn't seem to agree with either captain Constantine or captain Neferis, and yet there was... some sort of strange relation. Like understanding or something, very disgusting.

A leader of your alliance many years ago observed that the true currency of our Cluster is not ISK, ships, stations, or anything so mundane; but rather, the acquisition and retention of sovereign rights. It isn't a particularly pleasant contention, but I am inclined to agree that it is the least ambiguous yardstick of success in our present civilization.
"Our little corner," meanwhile, is a collection of conversations that, combined in their entirety, do not rise to the first tick of that stick. It's true: we are of no consequence to the price of tea in Deklein. However, unlike Fountain, Fortress Delve, or remote regions of distant droning, neither are these ethereal musings in the least bit vulnerable to conquest. Our corners are orthogonal. But you've stuck it out here, and did try to blow up a bunch of Matari witch doctors, so I should certainly say: keep up the good work!
Based on all that, I might further imagine the tenor of "Freewoman Constantine's" response to you:
"I choose my words carefully, and I say that I have devoted my entire career - a career possibly, perhaps even likely, older than that of any member of any alliance that you have ever been a member of - to one pursuit: elevation of the individual as sovereign. You are one member of an organization of ten thousand members premised on the single-minded proposition that only might is right. We have nothing to say to one another."
That said, I don't believe "Freewoman Constantine" cared for "our little corner" much, either; and so ironically, the two of you might find common ground in that. Consequently, while I don't imagine your conversation would last long, or even start, there is an iddy-biddy little chance that it might be quite entertaining.

Your posts are always and enjoyable read; I would like you to know that.
As for your imagination of Ms. Constantine's words, I would have agreed with her, not too long ago, before I joined Goonswarm, before I saw first hand what communism can accomplish. My interest in Ms. Constantine is not her political views, but the person behind them. That is why I seek her out. And since it seems that she does not read "this little corner," I will have to try a more direct approach.

More power to you, then. Perhaps she will speak to you in your capacity as a member of the press. Of course, trust might remain an issue, given that she could imagine your intentions are to depict her in a poor light, but there is certainly a story to be had if everyone comes together in... the spirit of cooperation that is New Eden - all right, well, even apart from all that. |

Five and a half years on from Mito and its still a faint pleasure to prove you wrong monsieur Davlos. I have had my share of poor experiences with Goonswarm pilots of course, and I've found the organization itself rather disappointing in the grand scheme of things (from the perspective of seeing their rise from obscurity to triumph in war then decline to a rather ordinary nullsec aristocracy with the usual shady connections in Concord).
But these days I'm something of an anarchist firebrand in retirement, I've survived many foes but succumbed to the sweet ennui of time's passing and organizational entropy. I miss my friends and comrades, and the wild insanity of my heretical lover, and I fondly remember the fires we lit together to burn effigies of the hallowed nationalist leaders across New Eden!
Still, some in this thread guess correctly my response to Goonswarm as a whole is not likely a polite one (how can one treat with a collective stripped of individual sovereignty without a gesture of mild disgust after all) But a single reporter possessed of ego and ambition, making far claims of seducing the Mittani and putting horns on the tyrant's wife? Temper mixed feelings with a dose of curiosity, I've always been fascinated by the grotesque hierarchy in its terminal state - who knows, perhaps a little insight may come from the knifeplay.
