Some people have been wondering about the WWW changing to WWW2 in the eve-online.com and related web addresses. www.eve-online.com website was moved to another location to minimize future routing issues to the site and offer a better more reliable service, to insure that no users would have connectivity issues with the site during DNS propagation on the internet the old site redirects all queries to www2.eve-online.com. In the coming days the www2 redirect will disappear as the network of DNS servers you connect to update there information automatically.
This might be a bit technical for some, so here is a none technical explanation: Its all good and nothing to worry about

The forums are up during Tranquility maintenance periods and rarely taken down. The instances that the forums are taken down generally are the result of either a patch or forum code upgrade.
In the case of the former, because the forum code is tied into the game code, database entries are being updated and to change live (forum posts) data on the fly would cause no end to the headaches the programmers face. The latter generally results in a forum downtime of minutes.

I assumed that you nerfed WWW and had to switch to WWW2 to remain effective.

I'd bet that Froggy had to train DNS Propagation (rank 8), Packet Loss Prevention (lvl 5) and Electronic Engineering (rank 3) to lvl 5 before they could use Tech2 WWW.
If CCP ever seeds BPOs for EVE-ONLINE.COM IIs, you'll probably have to do the same.
