Just updated to wine 1.5.25. Launcher immediately crashes. No overrides except d3d11 (disabled).
Can't seem to get error output.

Downgraded to 1.5.23. Works fine (with the d3dx11 override).
Last post in this thread was helpful. Had to manually sort out the dependencies, though. |

I did revert back to 1.5.24 and that did not help, restored all setting and it still not working. Getting error in lancuer.exe.log:

That fixed it, thanks, though I only downgraded to 1.5.24 as that was working for me. :)

I've added a comment to http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=25823 for others to more easily find this fix. |

I get this too. Is there any fix for this particular issue? I haven't seen anything :-/ Also, running EVE via PlayOnLinux.
EDIT: Running Wine version 1.5.23 with the d3d11 (disabled) fix. Been working flawlessly until this launcher update. |

As Katrina said, it's usually a good idea to keep up with the latest version of Wine, but that particular error generally means you need an override. Try msvcrt90 and d3dx9_36 (did I get that right?) first. |

There are problems around wine 1.5.23 through 25 or so. Most of these problems went away with 1.5.29.
Please also note that the launcher fails to function for a lot of people, run the exefile directly using a shell script like: /usr/bin/env WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.wine" DISPLAY=":0.0" /usr/bin/aoss wine explorer /desktop=eve1,1024x768 "C:\Games\CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe"

*Just run ExeFile.exe directly from ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/CCP/EVE/bin/
This should bring up the regular EVE client login and bypass the launcher.
*You do still need the .DLL overrides for the latest Wine 1.5.31, the only difference is you don't have to switch them around between "native" and "built in" when updating. In addition to disabling d3d11 you *need* to install the DirectX libs and Microsoft Core Fonts via Winetricks with the following terminal command:
winetricks corefonts d3dx9_36 vcrun2005 vcrun2008 vcrun2010
*Some people also add the following to the end of their ~/.wine/user.reg
[Software\Wine\Direct3D] "DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl" "OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo" "PixelShaderMode"="enabled" "VertexShaderMode"="hardware"
^-- If you have your proprietary GPU drivers installed and are still getting shader (sm3) errors this might be your fix.
