To me Eve is a game that should be fairly easy to port over to a tablet. Looking at the new Tegra 3 processor that will be launching in tablets as early as next month I'm curious to know whether CCP has any interest in porting the game.
If you have heard anything about this please share it here, it would be pretty sweet to be able to play the game on a future android tablet. |

Ya I really wasn't sure where to put it, assumed this might be the place where it would get the most interest - apparently I was wrong. |

It is as easy as porting the game to Linux oh wait.......
Let me explain, EVE uses Direct X. Direct X is property of Microsoft that _ONLY_ works on Windows & Xbox consoles The End |

Yeah because that was the full client and not a stupid mockup with ship models.
Just because DirextX is not on other platforms does not mean that you cant have 3d. OpenGL is used on all other operating systems that are not Windows.
This is how Wine comes into question and how MAC works with Cedega or TransGaming that uses code from the Wine project to translate DirectX calls into OpenGL. Far from OK performance though and only x86/x86_64 able. |

I know the ASUS tablet - the eee pad transformer has something similar that it ships with. I believe you can connect to any other computer that is hooked up to the same network, which is great if you are at home but not so much when on the road.
Anyway it was just an idea, but by some of the sarcastic remarks it seems as though some of those who posted aren't too optimistic this could happen .... I can wish none the less. |

Splashtop works over the internet, you just need a gmail account.
I've used it from work to update skill trainings a few times now. |
