Lore says you cannot be both a DUST Bunny and Capsuleer at the same time. The implants are not compatible.
You should still be able to afford the armor and be able to wear it though. Even in Warhammer 40k, there are normal humans that sometimes wear Power Armor (the Space Marines' armor) without the special implants that allow it to fuse directly to the body, though they are much much less effective users of it.
I think it would be great fun to wear DUST armor in EVE.
However, DUST 514 uses the venerable Unreal graphics engine. EVE uses a proprietary 'Carbon' engine for the CQ. So unfortunately, the dropsuit assets are built for the Unreal engine, not the Carbon engine. They'd have to port over the models into EVE's format, which would still take quite a bit of work. It should not be a massive issue to re-skin the Dust assets to work in carbon, on the assumption that the developers have used the same 3d package - although the cross compatibility between 3dsmax and maya (hopes no one is using XSI) has improved over the years its still a bit of a pain getting textures across, might need re-jiggling (fbx with baked textures maybe?).
I'd agree that the art assets should be shared (if nothing else as a marketing exercise), although as WiS appears to have been abandoned it would seem somewhat redundant at the moment. |

Mmmm, no, DUST Armor should be kept to ground troops only. It is only suitable for ground combat and dropping onto the planet anyway.
Logic would state that, the DUST armor is built for use on a planet, not in space.
What you REALLY want, is armored flight suits, built and designed for New Eden Pilots, for use in flying space ships. As we go into the pod goo nekkers though, it would be useless. The only thing an armored space suit would be good for in EVE, is as a fashion statement (or if your pod or space station were breached). It would look cool but, would not fit the lore very well.
DUST bunnies wear armor to stop bullets. EVEies, wear nothing to pilot their ships. |

Maybe, just maybe, this would allow us to go through that door? You know, with the breather and stuff.... Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot. |

only if our dropsuit variants are 8 bilion times more blingy/dangerous, and a hundred times more expensive.
because were all space-rich comapred to them, and when/if DUST finally gets the CARBON engine to look all shiny/pretty and allow same-environment interaction between games, i wanna make sure i can still remind them who the herculean demigod is, even without my ship. |
