Use abnormal sizes, like 200x50.

I suppose u want to make gif animated sigs so you need just a gif animator software so my advice 4 u is just to type in google : "gif animator", you'll find mucho software for gif animations. Good luck. ( if u think at something more like flash animated sigs ... then macromedia flash is the software u need )

Try the program UnFREEze (i think). it's a free gif-making-program. Just google it. You make a load of separate .gif images and it puts them into an animated .gif file. The program itself is only something like 13kb.
Im not sure that when you save your MSPaint images as .gif (which you need to do) that the colours will remain as nice. But it's worth a try. ---------------

UnFREEz is indeed kinda nice if you want to build animated gifs from a set of images you already have.
But if you want more control over the animation (flip back and forth between frames in the animation while painting) you could try Pro Motion, it is a powerful pixel editor with animation capabilities, and alot of professionals that work with pixel based graphics (i.e. GameBoy Advance, Cellphone Games) use it, if you're familiar with MSPaint already I'm sure you'll get right into using this without any troubles.
