anyways, what I wanted to say is, hipothetically, what would be needed to convert EVE to the Black Sun engine?
Oh, btw, Black Sun engine is that nifty engine that powers Nexus: the jupiter incident.

And it should have been "A hypothetical" not "An Hypothetical" anyway...
From what I've seen of it it's a nice engine, but as for changing Eve-online's engine who knows?

What would the benefit be of going for the black sun engine as google doesn't return any useful information about it and btw whats the name of the engine currently used by eve, was mentioned once but can't remember what it is

Black Sun engine = engine capable of reproduce newtonian phisics in a deep space-like enviorment, and in the Nexus case, a 3-D RTS based in space.
Imagine if in EVE, planets, moons, asteroid belts realy orbited arround a star. Imagine a realy large radioactive-emmiting asteroid belt. Dust clouds interfering with the ships sensors. Ships hiding from sensor detection behind the shadow of asteroids, or even moons.
stuff like that, afaik
..better words to describe it would be to play the game itself. -------------------

afaik there are plans to add environments that effect sensors etc of ships so that part will be covered as for the physics, until i can park my ship upside down the physics suck, why would my ship auto-level in space theres no down for it to know how to align.

If our ships didn't park top-side up our wheels wouldn't touch the ground making it difficult to open the doors. The doors would rub on the ground. However, with the wheels holding the ship up while parked it gives enough clearance for the doors to open and clear the curb.

Black Sun's very nice from a graphical perspective, but it's entirely inflexible from the standpoint of content creation. Even with extremely good knowedge of Nexus' scripting language it's impossible to create anything different from a Nexus mission unless you start heavy duty modding (creating your own 3D models, etc).
Also, it's insanely laggy when more than a few players join up on someone's server that isn't being hosted on a decent computer with a good high speed connection.
The explosions though... wow they're insane. One of the few games around that when I first blew something up I actually jerked back from the monitor a bit. :)
