After serving 3 months in FW I noticed some little issues in the security status hits where engaging any "neutral" player in low automatically results in a sec status hit irrespective of the person you are attacking and their security standing.
Why is this a problem? By being in lowsec you will be attacked and engaged by other players. This is a given. But even if you attack a pirate player first because, lets face it, a pirate shows up your not going to wait for them to shoot first, you still get penalised for this action, even if they engage you in a plex.Tthis can result that eventually you might not even be able to enter your own highsec because of your anti-pirate activities. This also means many pilots are reluctant to shoot first and many pirates use this to their advantage. In many fights, getting the first shot off can mean the difference between winning and losing.
Suggested Fixes Any ship that enters a plex and is not engaged in faction warfare is automatically flagged as a suspect and is free to be engaged without penalty to the defender of the plex.
As a FW or + sec status player, if you enter low sec and engage a pilot who has a 1.0 or 0.0 security status outside a plex this does not effect your security status.
If however you engage someone outside a plex with a negative sec status and win you actually get a bonus to your sec status to represent your law enforcing activities.
Attacking a player with a sec status of 1.0 or more outside a plex will still result in the penalty to represent your dubious activities.
Podding will still result in a penalty. (afterall you can still be a nasty FW player)
What is this to encourage? I would like this to encourage law encorfement, want to be the police force of low? Now you can, want to engage pirates without fear of losing your access to high? Then you can. It would also add some legitamacey to the law enforcement pass for players. |

No. If you engage anyone with higher security than -5, then you must pay the consequences. You live in low sec and must abide by the same rules as everyone else.
It's called Faction Warfare, not Faction Neutral Warfare. Don't do the crime, if you don't want the sec hit. Malcanis for CSM 8. Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the lions will ignore you in the savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless. |

Same answer(s) as the last time a FW player posted this idea (just a few weeks ago)... NO. You don't get special LS rules because of FW. |
