There are currently around ~800 or so unique ships sitting in the Eve client files that have yet to be released (they've been there for a while now) although happily CCP has started releasing them into the wild. Some are obviously reserved for NPCs, future navy and t2 ship variants some complex theorycrafting has deduced that there are probably 5 manufactures for all but Minmatar that could be specifically for player use at some future date.
What ship would you like to see a variation of released next?

Some of those are already in-game (aka usable), but I would like to see more SoE ships flying around, they're neat, and I wouldn't mind zooming around in a jove industrial...

Yep, I included the ones that have ship id's already in brackets, should highlight the ones that you can already get though eh?

Other than for vanity would this be a pointless amount of new stuff, which really is just old stuff. All those textures then need memory on the graphics card and so it would increase the hardware requirements of the client for no good reason. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

These ships are all the same only with different skins. This means these textures need to be loaded into the graphics card. It may seem little, but depending on how CCP has this implemented can this sum up to a nice, little amount of extra memory on the graphics card. I am not saying it will burn your graphics card or that you need the latest high-end hardware for it, but why increase the requirements for your game for a bit more variety in colour? It needs a better reason than just having the same ship models with a gazillion different skins or it leads to an overall shallow appearance of the game. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

So what you are telling me is that in the last few years since they've introduce faction ships, pirate ships, T2's, T3's, interdictors, heavy interdictors, new bc's, and new destroyers, and even though the requirements never once changed, your pc still died a little on the inside?
This game started with maybe around 70 different ships. Look at what we have now. Time to upgrade dude. |

With sheer ignorance? Even the cheapest of GPU's carry 2 gigs of Ram now which is 1 more than you actually need to run this game. I'd hate to see how you handle some of the newer games that offer a multitude of skins for characters and vehicles and add more during seasonal offers and expansions. |

Is this not connected to this old image from when the Scorpion got an update?
There was talk and rumour at the time of extra skin choices for ships. Seems it didn't make it at the time, but I would imagine the files are still in there.

And the Ishukone Watch Scorpion has been around since 2011 too...
I'd love to get some variety in ship colours. Choice is good. |

How does that work? This stuff already exists in the game files and as such takes no development resources away from your 'expansions'
Which are what exactly? More missions? new modules? yeah, cos the digital art guys are the ones who code those...

I couldn't help but notice that you have yet to refute or back up anything. All you have given are broad generalized statements. Is this how you 'burn down' arguments? Minimum specs still only require a 128 mb card, if they even make those anymore, that supports shader model 3 (oh sorry that was an upgrade to the specs from 4 years ago). Preferred specs call for a card that is 4 freaking years old and has 720 Stream Processing Units, which is on the low end of what current cards offer. Even a semi current machine isn't going to notice a few added skins. |
