Hi all,
I thought it about time to introduce our new-ish C5 corporation to the wider community. GÇÿBoris JohnsonGÇÖs Love ChildrenGÇÖ started up before Christmas and has been gaining momentum ever since. We are a laid back, primarily EU based group of experienced Eve players (though our WH experience varies). For anyone unaware of whom Boris Johnson actually is... you disappoint - this slightly odd creature is the embodiment of our Corp. Yes this man is the Mayor of London... yes he is.
We live in a C5 Magnetar with a static C5, after a few months of preparation (farming until eyes bled) we decided to man up and throw some expensive ships at other expensive ships. We have had a number of decent fleet fights so far but I will only bore you with the most recent.
[BORIZ] vs [LOST] Disclaimer: gfs all round, respect to [LOST] for coming to us and escalating with Dread. Very enjoyable fight against competent opponents. I hope they would agree that regardless of third party intervention, the fight was epic.
Yesterday we connected to a C5 that also connected to [LOST] & [.IFAP]. Fairly certain of a decent fight we started to fleet from 18:00. A few cheeky kills on [LOST] and they started forming up, we began to field a throwaway shield fleet and escalated accordingly, matching their fleet like for like.
With both corps scouting the other, pretty soon it was clear we would both be fielding all our T3s with guardian support. Expecting [LOST] to stay in their home system we prepared a bait fleet, apparently we were taking too long as [LOST] warped a reasonable sized fleet consisting of 8 T3, 3 Guardians, 2 Abso and Falcon support to our WH (in C5 static). We matched this fleet (+1 Bhaalgorn -Jams) and engaged. Suffering heavily from legion neuts and Falcon jams we were on the losing end of the fight for the first 10 minutes, after losing 2 guardians we were forced to commit an Archon. [LOST] responded with a Moros.
At this point the fight was a stalemate; with neuts and several Falcon jams our dps and counter neuts were lacking. Pretty soon after caps were dropped [EXHALE] appeared on the field, 2 canes warped in at range and decided to kill 2 [LOST] falcons (unrequested but appreciated). [EXHALE] very kindly offered Capital support, which was refused. The reduction of [LOST] Falcons appeared to tip the fight just enough in our favour to gradually work through targets on the field. Without a bubble we managed to point and kill most of the enemy fleet: http://www.borisjohnsons.com/kb/index.php/kill_related/195/
After the Moros popped we chased the remaining [LOST] back to their system. I made a fairly terrible call for our Archon to jump through their reduced hole which resulted in the collapse, shutting off our Bhaalgorn. [LOST] escalated with a second dread and took our archon and 2 T3: http://www.borisjohnsons.com/kb/index.php/kill_related/192/
Chitsa JasonGÇÖs alt also happened to be stuck in this system.
Chitsa The Great Big love to Chitsa Jason. Top bloke. After getting stuck in [LOST] home system and having to log our fleet, he scanned a null sec exit out for us. He then spent the next 3 hours scanning & scouting out fleet through null before finding a C2 with a static High. I have not been following the CSM campaigns but I will be giving my votes to Chitsa, not many would go out of their way and spend their evening assisting a hostile fleet.
Side notes: GÇó I heard mention in local that a few [EXHALE] (they only had 3 mains online + some alts) were harassing [LOST] fleet reinforcements, this may have had a larger impact on the final outcome, if true. GÇó Feel free to stop by our public channel: Boris Johnson GÇó Our website: http://www.borisjohnsons.com
Thanks for reading, I hope no-one mistakes the above for boasting, more mistakes were made on our part than [LOST]'s.
Hope to get more good fights with you all soon

Fight was epic!
At many points I personally thought the fight could have gone in anyones favor. Stalemate made the fight more intense and overall more enjoyable.
Hoping to see you guys again. Much respect for bringing the fight

A short story from Exhale. side
We were collapsing static and looking for k-space, need to move some **** out. We scan new static, I jump with my scout and see Arazu + Hurricane somewhere in space. At that moment we had only a few pilots online, but anyway decided to find them and shoot them. I scan down the system and find five c5 wh's connected to this system and eol hisec (so much need for our freighter).
As we start checking and looking where the hostile ships came from we decide to bait a little with Orca as there were combat probes out in the system. As Chitsa shouts for a big TLOST fleet (t3's + guards) we commit capital and jump it to static, reducing the wh and hoping to trap part of their fleet as they come in. We wait, ready to engage, but nobody comes and suddenly wrecks start appearing on D-scan.
We scout a bit to find where the fight is taking place. Chitsa tries to do some magic which doesn't work this time. Scout reports that TLOST Falcons are far way from main fight and we decide to ninja kill them, landing 2xHurricanes and 2xLokis on field. We land again for guardian this time much closer to main engagement , but can't kill it due to reps.
While we were engaged scout jumps to TLOST home system and reports that there are some ships to kill, we warp carrier and all available ships, jump and manage to kill one Guardian. The other side and rest of the story is above as told by OP.
TL;DR - Exhale. crashing the party GFs all around. |

Thanks for bringing the fight. It's always annoying when people run and hide instead of throwing down. Was a great and difficult fight for our new FC's first engagement :)
Hope to see both of you again soon, one at time please :D

It wasn't so much that we thought you were taking too long, but when you folks re-shipped, we realized you were ready for a fight and thought we'd "throw out the welcome mat", as it were.
You were, indeed, quite ready for a fight. Good times. |

Soo tempted to move to a C5 Corp........ !
Damn my loyalty!! And the fact that I cannot muster the motivation to take down our POS's and move out of our C4. We've tried over the last few days but finding a good pipeline to HS to move everything out has not happened for us. So we're kinda in the mind now to stay put for the time being. We have a C5 holding now, but might have to abandon that. C5 is the end-game for me - it always has been. We've well outgrown our C4 with SP and knowledge.
Good read, and keep them coming. It fuels my desire to move or join an established C5 Corp.
And, no, you can't have my locus number to take down my POS's for me :) |
