Hi, I'm looking for a ship fit to use to solo Angel's complexes and anomalies specifically something in either the Amarr or Minmatar flavor. I've been considering a Loki as with the fit I made it can easily tank 700 Angels DPS cap stable, but the DPS is only a small 250, so I wanted to reach out to the community to see if someone who's experienced with this can help. Thanks! |

I guess a gila could do it, as omni tanking it is quite easy. Do you want a all in one or do you have your own prober ?

I don't mind probing the sites myself, as I said Minmatar or Amarr would be preferable but if nothing in their line works then I understand. |

Problem with amarr is that their damage profile doesnt really suits angels, and i cant see a minnie boat spit up 500 dps while tanking enough. Maybe a HAM legion could do it, but i'm too lazy to try to build something in EFT. Its resist profile would be perfect, though. |

Machariel is an option, I would really consider the tengu if you don't want to spend 5 bill on the tank right away. I used a 1-1.5 bill tengu to solo all the complexes supported by a tornado on my alt.
[Tengu, 6launcher max dps] Ballistic Control System II Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II
Gist C-Type Large Shield Booster Gist B-Type Explosive Deflection Field Adaptive Invulnerability Field II Adaptive Invulnerability Field II 10MN Afterburner II Caldari Navy Shield Boost Amplifier

-T2 shield boost amp works just fine, I didn't have the skill for it so I put on faction. -You can use a dissolution sequencer if you put on some extra faction ballistic control systems -To make this fit powergrid wise, use the genolution implants and the 1% engineering implant - 671 dps, 900 dps burst tank vs angels and 613 dps sustained tank. -No need to be capstable, after you kill the webs you don't need your tank. -In the 8/10, bring precision missiles and overload your tank as needed at the start to kill the webbing frigates -If you feel you need more cap, upgrade to T2 ccc's, it's not that expensive. I never needed it though.

Lower dps (543), almost the same tank (902 dps against angels) Use this if you really don't want to spend much isk on your exploration ship, will solo all the sites. You can drop the last faction BCS if you use genolution implants, you'll be capstable with those as well depending on your capacitor skills.
Other than the tengu, gila is a good suggestion. Although I'm no fan of sentries in DED complexes, tengu is easiest and laziest option. Also cheap to lose. Machariel clears faster, but that's not the main issue with DED as you can only find X sites depending on how fast you probe. For anomalies clearing is the priority as there are unlimited sites there.
Angel nullsec sites are really good isk, you can get multiple 1 bill drops from the complexes, even from the 7/10. Also, always do the mineral outpost as it always escalates to part 2 and gistum a-type loot is good. Skip the other escalation complexes, they all suck, that's why you find so many of them.

General comments on angel null plexes: All of the DED's are a cakewalk in a single tengu, with the exception of the final room of the 8/10. Almost all of the unrated plexes seem a step up in difficulty, with significantly more stasis towers and webber frigs than some of the other pirate factions, and at least two have nasty features like stasis towers as the trigger for an additional wave. The first two stages of domination fleet staging point are also easy. I have not checked out the Angel Mineral Acquisition Outpost (the faux-6/10), but if its anything like the serpentis one it has a manageable first stage and a difficult-to-solo second stage.
Angel loot is some of the best, the prop mods are top tier, the shield boosters at the L and X-L size are far more valuable than Pith boosters, and the shield hardeners and SBAs are one meta level below Pith stuff.
If you're doing angels in a shield ship, there is absolutely no reason not to buy a Pith A-type explosive hardener. You'll need at least one expl hardener anyway, and the pith A-types are dirt cheap atm. Federation Navy afterburners are also cheap.

all true. Anyone who flies shield at all will train shield management 5 sooner or later, once you do the 1.5% extra boost is not worth the 100mil you spend on the module. Anyway, that's a great fit for that price. Its definitely more burst oriented with the large booster. Since the fit does rely on having a strong burst tank while killing frigs, if I were to adopt something similar (I currently use a 3/7/6 slot tengu w/ a pithum c-type med booster), I would consider changing the rigs to t2 rigor, t2 ccc/smc, t1 ccc/smc. My strategy in the 8/10 has been to load faction missiles and volley the stasis towers first and try to get a head start on the frigates before they close range. I might change up my strategy though.
Just for kicks, I checked out the effectiveness of precisions vs faction against an arch gistii thug http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/item.php?type_id=16894 with sig=28m and orbit velocity = 450. I found that with no skills, the precisions do about 15% more dps, and with max skills, 5% hardwires, and a t2 rigor, they do about 6% better. If the frig gets webbed or target painted, both do better, but the edge that precisions have drops to 3%. Some first-hand PI tips |
