We all stood in awe for the events that occurred today in Luminaire. I have to admit that I felt heartbroken for the Caldari today as their fleet and homeworld gets devastated by the superior forces of the Federation Navy, but now the awe have passed I canGÇÖt help to think about the events that lead to this moment.
For once I dismissed all the arguments and accusations of Tibus Heth losing his mind as gossip and speculations, but the events as of now begs me to reconsider my opinion on the subject. It seems that the Gallente outwitted Heth with the deployment of the invasion force coercing CONCORD to assess the situation on the surface, the Caldari Navy then played into the hand of the Federation with the destruction of General Korachi vessel the representative of CONCORD Assembly (the Pawn) by the Shiigeru (the Queen) and her support fleet, as for why this was done puzzles me perhaps the situation on the surface of Caldari Prime wasnGÇÖt as GÇ£containedGÇ¥ as we were led to believe or even worst Heth wanted all this to happen.
ItGÇÖs because this breach of the Yulai Convention that DED agency declares the system in a state of emergency inviting the looming and overwhelming Federation Navy fleet (the Knight) we knew was operating on the area. From that point like pawns in a chess game the fate of Caldari Prime was decided. It remains to be seen what response the Caldari is planning but for now;
You sacrificed your queen Heth when you destroyed the Pawn of CONCORD, now your in CHECK! |

While I appreciate some of your thinking on this subject, let's be clear about one thing: whomever had a fleet over Caldari Prime was destined to lose it, once the Capsuleers scented blood in the water. The various established nations detest the Empyreans precisely because so many of us have honed ourselves into beasts of war, and wage an endless war in the dark reaches of the cluster. Today, we affirmed this with the battle royale that followed the destruction of the CalNav fleet.
Indeed, I suspect we'd affirm it again if Capsuleers were called upon to support an attack of a fixed target, whomever that target belonged to. |

Revising my post I feel the need to clarify that I donGÇÖt think Mr. Heth lost his mind, but he is definitely losing the edge, especially since the attempted assassination... |

Continuing the analogy, the master may sacrifice even a Queen for greater advantage. It was bold for the State to try and hold a planet in the heart of its enemy's empire at all, though doing so may have distracted from another part of the board. One move is not a game. Inevitably, more will follow - much as this one followed those before.

True indeed, I doubt we have seen the last of Heth or the Caldari in the board yet. However the Shiigeru went down without discharging its payload into the planet, this brave act of courage by Visera Yanala disproves the legitimization of the Federation Navy assault on the Titan and opens several avenues to retaliate both military and politically for the Caldari, even more if they manage to stablish order planetside once more. |

I have no doubt that they had the intention to use the Shiigeru against Caldari Prime, but they didn't ... even when they were attacked. Dont get me wrong, i think the attack on the Titan was very clever, the weapon was armed and in position to fire, an attack on the Titan in that state was an invitation for disaster the Federation Navy command knew it, if the Oblivion device were to be discharged it would portrait Heth as a "madman" giving Gallente justification to reclaim the planet once and for all. But that didn't happen and Caldari now have just cause to declare war and for the looks of it control of the planet as well. |

Are we still clinging to the nonsense that "bumping" a titan prevented it from having a line of fire on the *planet* that it was orbiting (lowly) long enough for a heroic cavalry to save the day? How deliciously precious. All of that will matter even less in a week than it does now, however, and it will be the next move that holds everyone's undivided attention.
On reflection, I suppose we are not quite back to equilibrium, as the Federation has yet to take control of the planet (again). Presumably that will happen over coming days, as the State's forces find their situation increasingly untenable.
I am pleased to report that Mheket Straz, M.D., a gentleman of penetrating mind that I liberated from a Covenant research box in Araz, continued producing base components for medical supplies in my colony on a frozen island (is there any other kind) in the planet's northern hemisphere despite all these hostilities.
Really, the damage to Caldari Prime has been rather sensationalized. For billions of people, life goes on. |
