First off, sorry about attitude directed to ccp in regards to being locked out. It was quite frustrating for me as a roleplayer. Anyways my idea.
Mostly. Try and split or multi sites. Combat on gate or cyno for pvpers if can local area suspect with different areas for pve defenders. Have multiple systems, etc for future events. |

Markus.
Keep an eye on the EVE_LiveEvents twitter feed. a lot of these events are mentioned on there before they happen. Not indicative of corporate policy unless otherwise stated. |

It is more that I am rarely able to get onto eve before 2300 due to rl. Pure luck I was able to make the Caldari Prime! |

Copied from my reply in another thread:
Not sure about the feasability of this idea, but still going to shout it out. What if the story critical actors are the pvp trigger? Is it possible to make attacking the actor cause a suspect flag?
This means the more pve people can focus on say spawned npcs or be in another battle, roleplaying etc. But if they want to take out critical targets, ie the actors, then they could face repercussions from the defenders. This is also more fair for the players who are not able to, or unaware of how to get into a fleet. |

I think it's a shame too. Considering there were so many people there who's sole intent was to disrupt the event. There were people 'rick rolling' voice comms in each fleet while dual boxing. People spamming local chat to the point where you could no longer read the CCP NPC messages.
I can't believe this sort of behavior goes unpunished... Remember this. Trust your eyes, you will kill each other. Trust your veins, you can all go home. -Cold Wind |

Fortunately, I think many of those people might be a more rare event. Most of those guys just go to try to get the gank or killmail. Just had to look how many people were calling for them. Not sure if possible, but I think no killmails during live events would be a good thing. However, that is personal opinion, let us not twist the topic to that. Continuing my tips posts:
Focus more on extended live events requiring traversing, interaction and co-ordination. New players do very well in random fleets. They are unsure what is happening and love to listen from my past FC experience in the events. People who want a quick gank, less likely to show up if we have more in depth events.
If it seems I am being a bit harsh on the pure pvp people, it is because logically, the live events shouldn't be tailored to them. Reason? Somebody only concerned about grief, km etc and doesn't care about the story, why should they affect it. Also, it is easier to just gank and "rick roll" the events then it is to play a roll. I have nothing against the play style. It keeps eve very interesting. It is just if the live events are for the story and no reward, then make it geared towards the roleplay and story people. For many, KM are a reward, so axe them. |
