1. What is Directional scan and how do you use it for like scouting? 2. Where are good places to mine around Amarr? 3. When some one is showing up as a suspect, can you attack him in high sec or will concord kill you? 4. Same as question 3 except if the person is WANTED. |

1. Google it. 2. Anywhere there are a lot of rocks left. 3. Kill them Pod them. It is likely a trap. 4. Wanted only means they have a bounty on them. You must still kill them within the rules to claim your share of the bounty. If you have any further thoughts on something i've posted, or want to ask an unrelated question feel free to contact me by EvE Mail or by private conversation if 'm online. 1. Did you ever heard of a search engine. Plenty of guides about the D-scan but the name itself should already give away it's function.
2. Asteroid belts
3. Suspect is free to engage without concord showing up for the duration of the suspect flag. Keep in mind, it may be a trap.
4. Wanted means bounty. Bounty doesn't change the RoE mechanics. |

Tutorial doesn't explain the D-scan only the on board ship scanning used for anomalies.
Also.
NEVER EVER MINE VELDSPAR IN AMARR.
Or you will face the wrath of our supreme and all-knowing Veldspar Overlord. |

Really?
Dang I must have figured it out another way, what's it called, oh yes 'research'
I've revised my response to 1 appropriately below:
1. Ever heard of the forum search function or google?
As for 2, Joe's Veldspar hut is entirely and completely authorised and licenced by Chribba to continue production during his current excursion to Kitzbuhel. If you wish to mine veldspar you can purchase a 1 week licence from Joe's Veldspar hut courtesy of his legally assigned and deputized agent.
Simply send 100 Million ISK to said agent 'Vincent R'lyeh' and your licence will be issued immediately |

Greetings
Lets remember that not everyone comes to EVE as a bitter old vet (BOV). This forum is a specific place for new citizens to bring "any" question, so your pithy responses are not needed. The OP was a comprised of simple questions to a new player that can be answered without sarcasm, lets keep that in Jita Park where it belongs.

On On
Those questions could also be answered by his corpies and for sure they all were answered plenty in other threads. All OP needed was Search Button skill at level 1 and 2 brain cells.
And if you think Jita Park is where sarcasm blooms you sir must be new around here so let me point you in direction of GD. This way --> GD.

Draik Olacar wrote:1. What is Directional scan and how do you use it for like scouting?
D-scan allows you to check for objects (either all objects not in a room, or the objects specificed on your overview filter settings, depending on whether you've checked the box) within the range and angle you put into the scanner controls, with the center of the arc angle being the direction your camera is facing.
It returns a list of any objects found, in the usual sortable list format your overview uses.
It's useful for scouting defensively (set to detect ships and probes in your overview at 360 degrees, decide what range you consider to be "dangerous" to you, usually either 4au or maximum scanner range, run the scan every ten to thirty seconds, run away if you see anything), and for scouting offensively (doing some geometric process-of-elimination on a narrower angle to figure out where a target is without using probes, which are vulnerable to detection). It's also useful for specific knowledge of in-system stuff, like when a fleet-mate has reached an objective using a narrow-beam pointed at that objective.
By far the most common use of d-scan is the defensive, which isn't really directional so much as just a periodic sweep of nearby space for potential hostiles. Most people in high-security space don't bother with it unless they have an actual reason to be suspicious (e.g. they're in a corp war). As others have noted, more detailed information is available through the search function and google. |
