I have been playing this game for a long time now, recently I took a break and upon my return found myself with a new patch, with this new patch my character was marooned 23 jumps from its home base....I for one have had enough of the devs catering to certain individuals gripes and moaning and will now be considering termination of my account, it not only sucks but is totally outrageous!! so much for a playable game, to haul all my assets will take over 60 hours, and i have no intention of doing this at all.I have no idea why the devs feel they should cater to the gripes of a few, and the issues of connectivity and lag due to the function of the gates,i suppose the pirates amongst you were jumping with joy at this new 'idea' after all a lot of the game is catering for gankers, what with the ease to pick off travellers at gates...now you have even more chance to get your loot from the unsuspecting traveller.......I for one have had enough and feel that a gradually diminishing eve population is all that these patches will produce...travelling has allways been one of the most boring aspects of eve, and they have certainly found a new way to hit the roof in boredom. So ends my eve career, time for new horizons and new games I guess, i am both saddened and yet find it funny that a game that relys so heavily on subscription charges should take these measures that obviously increase boredom in what was a good game (with intervals of boring travelling). Oh well time to leave and find new pursuits i think!! ......thankyou to all that helped me along the way ,and all my corp mates along the way, it was good and nice to know and work with you all. farewell denizens of eve.

If you've played Eve that long you know this isn't even halfway like it used to be pre-highway.
It's a good change, not for gankers, but for traders and producers. _______________________________________________

We've broken the online record about 4 or 5 times since the CW patch came out, by quite a significant margin. So I don't quite see where these "diminishing numbers of players" are.

Edited by: Ranger 1 on 30/08/2005 18:25:38 That must have been a fairly long break eh, considering the last patch was a while ago... especially considering those changes were announced months in advance.
Fess us, you had stopped playing EVE months ago... you just hadn't decided yet whether or not to stop your subscription. Now you have what you feel is the perfect excuse so as not to look like you gave up on the game.
Justification FTW I suppose.

Ho! Ho! the usual defend eve at all costs type of answer, as for increasing figures ...erm wrong answer..eve peaked at over 14k online now its going down bit by bit,no you cant have my stuff as i know of some very deserving causes to send it to.....originally i did mention that i was 'THINKING of leaving' and the main point is that travelling is very boring...sitting at a pc waiting to travel from point A to point B with multiple jumps IS boring!!! and i was on holiday followed by a very hectic work schedule......some of us do have to work you know, the patch notes i read for the july patch had nothing in black or white about how they were going to address the highway issue just that they were working on it . And i dont use paragraphs if i stay on the same subject, and i'm not looking for sympathy as you just wont get any at any time here, just pointing out that that the game has a habit of going backwards!!! Regards all......and if you cant be constructive why bother writing anything at all, the above is just an observation that has really narked me as i'm stuck away from my main base without serious skill time and expediture...i.e getting a freighter!!

Umm... yeah, Eve peaks on Sundays then goes down. The last three Sundays have all been record numbers. The fact that more people play Eve at weekends doesn't mean that every Monday Eve starts to suck.
As for shipping your stuff, how much stuff do you have that you need? I have three hangars filled with crap that I never got around to doing anything with, but I don't see the need to haul them all to the station I operate out of today. 1 Ferox, 1 fast runabout ship, 1 hauler is all I really need.
That said, even though that's all I need, can I have your stuff anyway?

For the record, I didn't defend anything, I merely parsed up your message for readability. That is one of the main purposes of a paragraph, in addition to breaking a piece of writing into subject-oriented areas.

If by "good", you mean "at least three of the major producers have given up on it as a bad job, causing a noticable increase in T1 module prices and short supplies of modules we all use in some Empire regions", yea.

In case you didn't notice Eve's population isn't getting smaller. Recently they broke the user limit twice. I'm also not sure where you are getting the idea that the changes were made to please a few people.
BTW 23 jumps is not that bad.

Indeed. I¦m a new player. I love eve for the "player¦s freedom" it gives more than any other mmorpg I know.
But travelling here is just annoying. The ships are way too slow. Docking, approaching jumpgates or simply flying often makes me feel like wasting my gametime. Apart from that - great game. :)

Though 0.0 access is now quicker as to the other guy just sell youre non core assets and haul the rest. Or set up shop in several regions
