Xindi Kraid wrote:That shouldn't matter. The CPD and the Executor position shouldn't exist, at least not in the form it does at the moment.
The responsibility of the running of the state is supposed to be up to the megacorporations' CEOs as a collective. Placing a single man above them is unnatural.
I completely agree with you Mr. Kraid.
The CPD and Heth are pretenders. They have no valid claim to the state yet treats it as their personal tool for vengeance. Even worse, Heth refused to sign the treaty as agreed upon by the CEP, thereby clearly stating that he does not care for anything but his personal agenda. Not signing is bordering on treachery to the state.
We need to go back to our tried and tested ways. The state grows and prospers when the best amongst us stand equal to their peers and decide in unison what is best for us all.
This delusional idea that Heths support amongst the uneducated masses matters at all is ridiculous. The masses DOES NOT decide on matters of state. They are neither educated for it, nor do they have the perspective to make these kinds of calls. It saddens me deeply when my fellow statesmen fall to federation propaganda and thinks that whoever has the most braindead followers makes the best leader.
It doesn't.
It usually just makes the biggest egos. |

If I may, a thought:
Just as a corporation has a board of directors who elect a CEO to carry out their programs and to make strategic decisions on their behalf, so does the State have the CEP and an executor. Often, given that each corporation is self-directing, we needn't worry about having an executive position. In times of duress when quick decision-making is needed, it seems reasonable for the State's board to elect a capable individual to operate on their behalf or, in short, said Executor.
Heth has now demonstrated that he is not as capable as some had believed, and that he does not operate on behalf of the CEP but rather for the benefit of his personal agenda. As such, he should be removed.
Whether the position of Executor would need to be filled again-- well, that's another question. I'd argue that there is no particular need. |

Honestly, the Caldari state is neither a Federation or a Republic. It's a Meritocracy. I don't really see Heth's merit anywhere, so there's no reason he should be leading, well, anything, especially not the State. And neither should Provists, as only very few have merit to them. They have only proved their loyalty to Heth (heil Hethler!) and not much else, and with the way things are looking now, they probably should step down before someone decides to make them meet the Reaper prematurely, including Heth. That's the only way the Caldari State shall get through this alive.
Enough ranting for now, I guess.
Carry on. |

Then you slept through last 5 years. It is mostly because of Heth's efford we can call our State meritocratic. It was capitalist nepotism before Heth's reforms. And you probably never was a citizen and didn't compare how citizens were living before the reforms and after. And probably you don't see Caldari Prime as being ours once again (and even now, under shameful DMZ treaty, it is still ours!). So, well, I don't know where did you live that you didn't heard about everything our glorious Executor did for our beloved State, but if you don't see his merits it doesn't mean there really aren't.
By the way, do you have an authority to question his merits? Do you work for CPD, or just mindlessly running around insulting peoples who did this much for the State? |

and yet the only "merit' required of the CPD and any of Heth's underlings is blind obedience and loyalty to Heth. He seems to have conveniently forgotten about the Meritocracy he restored.
The problem is so much that, though. Heth has done some good in the past; the reforms were good and I am glad we have been able to retake Caldari Prime, but since then, Heth has been on a downward spiral. We have all seen his failing health, and he dropped to ball when it came to the Shiigeru, and then passed fault onto someone else, and more damningly, he has acted against the CEP. Even if he was fit to be a leader 5 years ago, he is not fit to lead any more. Either he should retire of his own volition, or the megacorporations are well within their rights to remove or replace him |

Technically speaking, Executor Tibus Heth is the CEO of Kaalakiota corporation and therefore a member of the CEP. The only thing the CEP can (and should) really do is end the partnership with the CPD, take back control over their own resources (Sukuuvestaa is already doing this) and absolve the position of Executor.
It is not a matter of removing or replacing Heth, he remains the CEO of Kaalakiota until such a time that he resigns or the internal board of directors and majority shareholders of Kaalakiota force his resignation. The remaining megacorporations on the CEP have little to do with it. ~Malcolm Khross

I was speaking regarding his Executor position, but I do hope the board members of Kaalakiota see fit to find a new CEO. |

Either he should retire of his own volition, or the megacorporations are well within their rights to remove or replace him It looks like not only Trensk Mikakka, who slept for last 5 years. Tibus Heth was acting against CEP like from the very beginning of his career. But it is wisdom of CEP members, that allowed them to see their mistakes and accept guidance of Tibus Heth, and that awakened and saved the State. CEP members were able to understand and correct their mistakes, because they have merits. Unfortunately, there are very many CEP 'supporters', who don't have enough merits, analytical abilities and wisdom to comprehend. Of course they are lacking authority too for joining CEP and thus hindering progress, initiated by Tibus Heth. Luckily these short-minded CEP 'supporters' are able only to bark and can't affect State politics. Although I believe that they still should be put under detention for their barking. They are disgrace for Caldari. |

Maybe you should take a refresher course in Caldari law, the CEP is the overriding central authority for the Caldari State. Loyalty to them is simply a loyalty to the lawful, legitimate power of the State. If you don't like it, maybe YOU should become a megacorp CEO and work to change it. I doubt you have the cunning and business for that sort of thing.
Also it is not illegal to have an opinion no matter how much Heth wants it to be. If anyone is a disgrace it is men and women like yourself who have no idea what being a Caldari is. |

I would avoid using the term overriding when discussing the authority of the CEP. It is very possible for the CEP to declare a cross of action for the State at large, but still have the megacorporations pursuing alternative through various means or not adequately supporting the CEP initiative.
