if my sentries are having hard time hitting a angle BS that orbiting me at 8000m if i throw 1 Weber drone in with 4 sentries would it help any?
im using a dual rep navy dom
my work around so far has been to drop and guards and move 20KM from them but then i have to slowboat back to them to pick em up to go to the next room killing more of my time I love the the smell of victory in the morning. It smells like... Blood, vomit and burning flesh. |

If they're orbiting at 8km, why not just toss in a web? You might need to drop a Cap Recharger, but dual-rep Domi is overtanked for anything but AFK missions anyways. The other easy option would be to just pick up your Sentries and switch to Heavies, which would definitely be better than a single webbing drone. |

Dual omni's at a minimum. I run 2 fed omni's on my normal domi and my sentries can hit cruisers orbiting at 8000m |

I find Garde II's with 2 omnis have no problem with this, which sentries are you using? They have different tracking. EVE PvP reminds me of sex: there is a long build-up often made frustrating by idiots; a semi-tense and semi-fun stretch to get into business that you try to keep quick; an all too short climax where you pray nothing goes wrong, and you're probably going to go home with less money then you started with. |

The answer is stop using sentries when they are too close and use heavy drones. You are flying a Dominix, the Gallente Drone Battleship, known for it large drone bay,.. |

Been afk but had some additional thoughts on this.
I am in a similar boat as you. I have not yet finished training for T2 Sentries. But do not have the issues you are describing.
I run a regular Domi, with 2 fed navy omnis. I also am using Faction sentries. Yes they are expensive but they are darn good until you can use T2's And really, unless you are AFK or brain dead it is near impossible to lose a sentry drone in PVE. So consider them a temporary investment. I intend to sell mine back on contract once I can use T2's and get my money back from them.
With that setup the only thing my gardes dont hit well under 10,000m are frigs. Occasionally a frig or 2 get past me. in these cases I just ignore them, cleaning up everything with my sentries. Then at the end I deploy Hobs to clean up the few frigs that remain.
Also, I have a hard time believe you need a dual rep navy domi. I run a single rep and do fine on a regular domi. Dropping a rep would allow you to likely drop a cap recharger in the mid and replace with a web or TP (personally I would use a TP over a web in missions, but that is just me). |

A mate of mine uses 2 Fed navy omni's on his Thanatos with Garde 2's. They hit and kill every ship over 5km away.
Sentry Drone Interfacing 5 is a must-have skill.
Till then, just use lights or mediums |

In my experience fitting an AB/MWD makes using sentries much less of a chore - drop them, orbit at 20-30k while they kill everything, burn back quickly to scoop and move on.
Navy domi, even with a max-dps rail/sentry fit, should have plenty of tank to squeeze on an AB. As mentioned omnilinks are also very very helpful.
But in general, webbing drones are useless. As mentioned you'd be better off with a web on the ship or switching to heavies. |

I run my Domi with 3 omnis and a target painter.
My Garde IIs kill (some) frigates orbiting at 8 kms, not that any ever make it that close, but just in case.
T2 sentries though.
However, in practice. When something (especially a BS) is say under 10 kms, the use of heavy drones is also a good option. They actually pump out more raw damage than the sentries, and with your targets so close up the loss of damage due to flight time is acceptable. |

You know, you were doing ok until that last line.
Even without Sentry Drone interfacing 5, sentries (especially faction ones) will way out damage lights or mediums, so there is no reason to stick with lights and mediums until you can fly T2 sentries.
Trying to finish most LVL 4's with a Domi and only medium drones would be painful at best.
